Sona Restaurant — Restaurant in West Bengal

It's located on left hand side of the battackpore railway station. It has two dinners one is AC and one is Non AC. The non AC diner was closed off during 2021 till late 2021, it has reopened now. The food here is relatively good quality and resonable prices. The order does take time whether it's in dine or take away coz zomato and swiggy orders are always going on. The biryani here is not very spicy like Dada boudi but is decent. The chicken Tikka without gravy is better, all the items with gravy is not that good since the gravy itself is not of good quality. The owner of this restaurant has another famous egg roll outlet named Sudama Rolls. Originally the owner had the egg roll center and this sona restaurant was started later. I do bring food from this outlet often, it's always take away, not in dine since I live near by. This place is on a narrow road and parking could be a problem here, as this road has auto starting point and end point towards barrackpore railway station. Travel light, dine in that's best for this outlet.

After 4 years, I visited this restaurant. The service has changed. Unprofessional service. I was on the table at 9.20 pm. Order taken at 9.25 pm (great). Starter served at 9.50 pm in a broken glass bowl. When I asked him to change the bawl, it was like a usual practice in this restaurant. At 9.55 pm another waiter comes and says the main course item I ordered is not available and need to change the order (it took them 30 minutes to revert). I changed the order from Chicken Biryani to Mutton Biryani. At 10.10 pm the waiter came with a plate of left over greasy rice of biryani and a bone of mutton. I was surprised to see this. I asked them what's that and they said Mutton biryani. I cancelled the orders and left the restaurant after payment. They were not even sorry about their service. Pathetic. Wasted my sunday...

Today, I went to Sona Restaurant and ordered tandoori chicken. However, the chicken tandoori roast I received was cold initially, and I was unsure why it wasn't warm. When I asked about the temperature, they offered an excuse, mentioning that it might have gotten cold due to a delay. It surprised me how it could become so cold in just 3 minutes. They reheated the chicken tandoori and served it, but unfortunately, it was quite oily. I had a disappointing experience with the tandoori chicken at Sona Restaurant.
