We had been to this place (airport road) recently. Here is what I feel about it. Pros: The ambience is good. Service was good. Cons: Food quality, taste and variety are not that great for that price (3k/head). Cannot give more than 3 stars. Please read on for the details. Food and service: They welcome you with a saffron drink. There will be someone coming after that to explain what’s in store for you. Once you make your choice (veg, non veg or combo) there will be someone from the kitchen serving hot kebabs, six varieties. Once you are done with the kebabs (you can repeat as many times as you like) they will serve the main course with mutton biriyani, roti, two types of daal and a curry (chicken or veg).
What’s missing: The look and feel of an unlimited buffet as it is supposed to be is missing. It is not arranged for you to pickup anything. You depend on the waiter. Though it is unlimited he serves you a limited quantity every time he comes (e.g. 1 leg pc or one pc tikka). So, you don’t really get that unlimited feeling. A big miss is the absence of any sort of green salad. I would have loved to have some of those veggies to go with the kebabs. But all they give is some onion rings that too you need to ask. Finally, the food taste and quality was not that great. I have eaten better kebabs elsewhere. They seem to have a heavy reliance on saffron. The biriyani for example tasted like saffron rice and was no where close to the taste of any biriyani at all. So overall I will...
Read moreThis is our first time visiting Kabab Factory after the renovation. And what a way to return.
Let’s start with the overall ambiance. Glitzy and fitting of a 5 star hotel. Everything oozes grandeur and unabashed luxury. The singular observation I had is that the couch type seating is a tad lower than it needs to be. The cutlery and serving dishes were very much in keeping with the overall aesthetic.
Food never disappointed before and it continues to somehow climb a notch each time. The kababs being the main event is an experience unto itself. The hung curd kabab, paneer, and the galouti were a hit with our party. The palette cleanser, welcome drink and buttermilk were par excellence. We were enjoying dals on the main course as much as the wide variety of desserts. Kaju Kathli and Coconut Chamcham were stand outs.
We were never rushed and were not in a hurry ourselves. So the laid back service was a plus. Note that though laid back service was wonderful. My wife’s dietary needs were also met with lightning speed and was so satisfying to see them go through extra mile. Every interaction was great and we were well taken care of for the nearly three hours that we were there.
We returned home with an excellent memory of having celebrated a significant milestone. I can’t wait to give ourselves any excuse to go...
Read moreFrom an experience standpoint, The Great Kabab Factory is one of its kind. A buffet that’s completely served at the table. We visited this for Dinner and for the record a Vegetarian Buffet Costs Rs1650 , while the Non Veg Buffet will empty Rs1850 from your pocket. The Dinner is a 3 Course Affair, starting with the starters, we started with some salads, followed by a saffron flavoured Aloo Paratha wrapping a mashed Dal kabab, followed by Paneer, Pineapple and a couple more varieties of Kebabs. They provided an Appetiser ice in a miniature hawkins rice cooker which was eye catching as well pleasant in flavour, there was an Almond milk drink which was pleasant yet striking in your mouth, followed by diluted dahi in no particular order, then there was Roti, Butter Naan with 2 varieties of Dal, Paneer Subji and Vegetable Kurma followed by Veg Briyani. The dessert had Kulfi, Mango Rabdi, Chocolate Brownie, Carrot Halwa and some kheer. The most enjoyable of the lot was the Paneer Kebab, Flavour ful, soft and yummy followed by the Saffron flavoured Aloo Paratha roll that we made out. The only sour point was the relatively slow and annoying service, at times not asking for the guest...
