BOAT STOPPER RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Zone 13 Adyar

Today, I visited Boat Stoppers Restaurant after a long ride. I had been there once a couple of years ago and remembered the food being delicious, so I was excited to try it again.

We reached around 8 PM, and the order was taken promptly upon our arrival. Here’s what we ordered:

Golden Fried Prawns ko₹280: Slightly overpriced, but decent.

Mixed Seafood Noodles ₹270: Overpriced and completely bland. It felt like the noodles were just lightly sautéed with some seafood like fried fish, prawns, and squid.

Golden Fried Rings: We ordered this, but it was never served.

Chilly Chicken: Below average in taste.

Despite ordering promptly, it took 47 minutes for the food to be served and even then, only 3 out of the 4 items were brought to the table.

Overall, the experience was quite disappointing. For the high prices and lack of taste, combined with the delayed service, our hunger had faded by the time the food arrived.

Disgusting and Unhygienic - Avoid Boatstopper Restaurant at All Costs!

I recently visited Boatstopper restaurant, and it was an absolute nightmare. We ordered the lobster, which was passable at best. However, the chilli fish was a disaster – hard, dry, and nearly impossible to bite. Clearly, it was either overcooked or had been sitting around for too long.

But the real issue was the appalling hygiene. Our waiter thought it was acceptable to stick his finger in his nose before serving our food. He proceeded to serve our plates with his finger touching the food, and to top it off, handed us the cutlery by holding the part we would put in our mouths. It was shocking, shabby, and utterly disgusting.

The lack of basic hygiene and professionalism is enough to ruin anyone's appetite. I wouldn't recommend Boatstopper to anyone looking for a clean, decent dining experience. Steer clear unless you enjoy subpar food and...

Overhyped and Overpriced – A Disappointing Experience

This restaurant is all buzz and no substance. While it enjoys a lot of hype, the actual experience is underwhelming. First and foremost, do not order anything that is not clearly listed on the menu. They have a habit of charging exorbitant prices for so-called "exotic items"—even when the dish is as basic as crispy chicken. I was shocked to see it priced at ₹380, especially when they didn’t even bother to serve drinking water or offer proper cutlery. Instead, the food came on flimsy use-and-throw plates, which added to the cheap feel despite the premium pricing.

During my visit, I witnessed multiple customers arguing about surprise charges. The staff's explanation? “It’s exotic.” But there’s nothing exotic about being overcharged for ordinary food served with no basic amenities.
