I recently visited the Dindigul Thalappakatti and found that the taste of the food seemed to be unchanged from the 80s. While I appreciate tradition, I felt like the flavours could have been freshened up a bit for the current audience.

The mutton biriyani was quite good. It had a nice balance of flavours and the meat was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the mutton biriyani seemed to sell out quickly, which was a bit of a disappointment. It seemed like the only reason people were coming to the restaurant was for the mutton biriyani, so it was frustrating to see it run out so quickly. It might be worth considering increasing production or offering other menu items that are equally popular to ensure that all customers have a satisfying dining experience.

In addition, I noticed that the quantity of the biriyani and size of the mutton pieces seemed to be getting smaller over the years. It was a bit disappointing to see this trend. The menu also hasn't changed in the last 10 years, which made the dining experience feel a bit stale.

One highlight of my visit was the Moru Moru Fish. The Basa fish was cooked to perfection and had a nice, crispy texture on the outside. The flavours were also quite good, with an enjoyable balance of spices. The breadcrumbs added an extra layer of flavour and texture, which made the dish stand out. Overall, I was quite pleased with the Moru Moru Fish and would definitely order it again in the future.

It's important for restaurants to prioritize the cleanliness and maintenance of their facilities, including the washrooms. The washroom was dirty and had a strong, unpleasant smell. Customers who encounter dirty or unpleasant-smelling washrooms may be less likely to return to the restaurant in the future, so it's critical to address these issues promptly.

To top it all off, it's clear that Dindigul Thalappakatti needs to make some upgrades in order to stay competitive in the market. With the rise of home delivery and cloud kitchens, it's significant for restaurants to keep up with changing trends and meet the demands of customers.

In particular, the restaurant could benefit from updating its menu to offer more diverse and modern options, as well as improving the cleanliness and overall ambiance of the dining experience.

Thalappakatti can also consider offering incentives for customers who choose to dine in rather than opting for home delivery. This could include special promotions, discounts, or other perks that make it more appealing to dine in.

Without these updates, the restaurant is at risk of falling behind and potentially struggling to attract and retain customers in...

I recently dined at Dindigul Thalappakatti in Besant Nagar and was thoroughly impressed. The Chicken 65 Boneless Biryani was a standout—aromatic rice paired with generous portions of succulent Chicken 65 pieces, offering a delightful blend of spices and flavors. The portion size was ample, making it excellent value for money.

Complementing the biryani, the Chicken 555 was equally commendable. This dish featured tender boneless chicken pieces marinated in a unique spice mix, then shallow-fried to perfection. The flavors were rich and satisfying, making it a must-try for spice enthusiasts.

The ambiance of the restaurant is welcoming, with comfortable seating and attentive staff who are eager to assist with menu selections. Service was prompt, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant maintains cleanliness and adheres to hygiene standards, which is always reassuring.

Located conveniently near the beach, it's an ideal spot for both locals and tourists seeking authentic South Indian cuisine. The menu offers a variety of dishes, but the biryani and chicken specialties truly shine.

In summary, Dindigul Thalappakatti in Besant Nagar delivers on both taste and value. Whether you're a biryani aficionado or someone looking to explore flavorful South Indian dishes, this restaurant is...

Visited this restaurant with my family..It is a decent dine out option in Elliot beach. As we were to leave chennai , we wanted to taste the authentic and famous thakapakatty biryani..The ambience is pretty good for a family dine out. However if you choose to sit on 1st floor , avoid the sits next to the door as air condition does not work there. We have ordered one Kal kozhi and one dragon chicken as starters. Kalkozhi was outstanding wheras dragon chicken was like any other Chinese dry Manchurian dish. Then we ordered one mutton thalappakatty biryani. The quantity was ok for two moderate eaters. We liked it as it was not very spicy and just the correct note of ghee and other mild spices. It came with small well cooked pieces of mutton and one boiled egg. Next we have ordered one chicken stuffed paratha and one chicken gravy dish. The paratha was a dindigul version of Bengali style mughlai paratha with chicken and Curry leaves in it. As my stomach was already full I took very little of the gravy item . Overall it is a nice dine out option after a joyful , sea soaked...

This was one of the best biriyani until I had visited them at Besant Nagar last night. I don't know whether it's a bad choice to go these kind of restaurants on a Monday or the dinner time!! The food was pathetic and the worst biriyani from them. 1. Firstly it was not hot at all. ( I had a wonderful biriyani last month at their nungambakkam outlet) 2. The rice was a kind of mixed one (half cooked properly and half undercooked) 3. Meat was over cooked. 4. The picture I have attached is Black pepper chicken what they served. Only the outer layer was good but inside all yuckk. Old chicken 🤮 Overall a bad experience and can't think of going again to this outlet.

Whoa! I've been here in a crowded evening but not in a relaxed afternoon. Got a place in the first floor and yes, the food is awesome! Lovely. While 99% of Chennai restaurants provide Briyani with basmati rice, this is one of the very few restaurants that provide Briyani with seeraga Samba rice. Absolutely stunning taste, only if you love Chettinad style Briyani. And yes, servers here are taking good care of you and your food. In other hotels, we need to ask for refill of normal water, but in here, they provide without asking! It's so good to be here. Worth the money. If you love the Briyani, then this is must visit.
