This place is primarily for people who want to taste a bit of Mexican cuisine in our Madras and I'd say they do a good job of introducing us to the style of it. Tacos are hard shell tacos and they take utmost care for it to not become soggy. Infact, I wanted to take a couple of tacos as takeaway but the person who takes our orders advised against it stating " by the time you take it home it will become soggy and you wouldn't like the taste of it. You might not even want to come back to our truck after that. If you want to takeaway food I'd recommend the burritos" he said. I was blown away by that response because of the honesty in it. He did have his best interest in it. He did not want to lose a customer but it also said how much they care about serving appetizing food and about the care that goes into the prepping of the food. They serve a very simple salsa on the side that is very fresh and tastes absolutely amazing. Their tacos, quesadilla and Mexican chicken poppers and sides provided along with them all tasted fresh and accompanied one and another. Located near Besant Nagar Beach, Pepino food truck seems to be riding on a wave of hype, but the reality is far less appetizing. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The taste was below average, and there’s a noticeable odd flavor in the fried items, likely due to cross-contamination of frying oil with different seafood. The smell and taste were off-putting, suggesting poor kitchen practices.

For the price, it’s simply not worth it. The atmosphere around the truck is also a major drawback. The constant harassment by beggars makes for an uncomfortable dining experience, and the poor service only adds to the frustration. The waiting time was far too long, even for such disappointing food.
