A Disappointing Encounter at d’Alas Warung Amidst Beautiful Surroundings

Our excursion around the island led us to d’Alas Warung, a restaurant set against a backdrop of stunning vistas and the unique allure of giant swings. Yet, the enchanting environment was sharply contrasted by the chaos that greeted us upon arrival. The restaurant was far from bustling, yet the staff seemed overwhelmed, leading to a series of service missteps that began with being directed to a dirty table and continued with a lack of attention from the staff, reminiscent of absent-minded NPCs in a game.

After repeated efforts to gain service, we opted for simplicity in our order, hoping to avoid further complications. We chose the pizza Margherita and French fries for the children, Karins Style Chicken, and I selected the Lumpia. The pizzas were merely passable, not warranting a recommendation. The Lumpia, however, provided a solitary high point with its satisfying crispness and flavor. Regrettably, the Karins Style Chicken was a letdown; even the children rejected it, suggesting it was an overcooked relic rather than a meal.

Our drinks were a mixed bag; the margaritas, although visually appealing, failed to deliver on taste. In contrast, the orange juice and young coconut were fresh and enjoyable.

While the prices did not break the bank, the overall culinary experience left much to be desired. More than the food, it was the apparent disarray among the staff that marred our experience the most. The beautiful location of d’Alas Warung deserves a service level to match, and hopefully, this was just an off day that is not indicative of the...

Honestly this place is beautiful, amazing views. however restaurants should not get 5 star reviews for just the view, this is my 6th time to Bali and my 2nd week of travel this trip and this was by far the worst food I have got on the trip! We were taken here through a tour with trip advisor as 4 of us and every one of us left our food we had a starter of spring rolls which was the best thing we ordered from there arriving cold and well below average, I ordered grilled chicken and received crispy chicken which didn't only also arrive cold but also the driest chicken I have ever ingested absolutely no flavour and a tiny portion, I wouldn't have fed this to my dog. To make things worse I saw 3 ants come out of the rice. My girlfriend had the most bland chicken curry I have ever tasted and my friend who managed to get the grilled chicken he ordered also had ants in it. All 4 mains got left on the table in full. We unfortunately had already ordered our desert which we said surly you can't fail at a fried bananna, how wrong were we... also came out cold and completely bland. If you want to see the view trust me.... just look from...

Charming hillside restaurant with good family facilities. Many of the diners are on whistle-stop tours of Ubud and arrive here by virtue of tour guides. Mrs E was one of these sheep, to her own meek admittance.

The laminated one sheet menu advised on a few choices available. What luck - all choices are good! Mrs E's only disappointment was that the duck was awfully skinny, with very little flesh on the bone to nibble on. Miss T chose the chicken nasi which was a juicier affair.

The highlight, for the younglings, and photo-frantic tourists, was the ultra swings, where for a small fee, one can catapult oneself into the other side of the mountain, catch it on film, apply flattering filters, and upload it for "likes" in the metaverse. Back in the universe, Mrs E proved herself no coward by hopping on the swing and swooshing through the jungle like a swan. To avoid breaking the metaverse, those photos shall remain in Mr E's private collection. You can look at these ones instead,...

TOURIST TRAP. AVOID. We came here as part of a tour. The female server was very pushy and fake. Did not enjoy that she pushed to have the same dish: fried duck, which was absolutely inedible. Just bones and fat. With all the other tables, she kept repeating the same pitch she gave us: “you must try true Indonesian food, have the duck! Have the duck!” The saving grace was the rice but honestly did not enjoy the food here and I’ve had waaay better Indonesian food in Ubud. We had also chosen nice seats but she misled to sit in uncomfortable beanie chairs because that area was less hot. (It wasn’t!) We ended up finding out that d’Alas restaurant is run by the namesake tour company, which was also not good. Food and drinks were also overpriced. I took a look at the additional main menu and did not feel that it was worth the price charged for the quality offered. AVOID. I would not eat here again.
