Gustav Grün - Wraps, Rice Bowls, Kebab, Salads,Breakfast & Smoothie Bowl — Restaurant in Bali

I don't like giving 1 star reviews, because this is someone's business, but when there is a major flaw this is necessitated. I arrived around 7 pm last night, 26/9/25, and was warmly greeted. I was asked if it was my first visit, and it was, so the young woman explained how the menu works. Gustav Grün is a really great concept of designing your own salad bowl or wrap with a large variety of ingredient options. I happened to sit inside, right next to the food preparation area. A young man was preparing three different items. When he got to my bowl, partway through completing it, he picked up one of the menus in the basket to check the ingredients, placed the menu down and continued grabbing food and putting it in the bowl. He was wearing food handling gloves, but did not change them after handling the menu. This was very alarming given how many people touch those menus. So, this is a 1 star rating due to the failure to maintain high hygienic standards. This kind of hygienic lapse is one reason tourists get Bali belly, which is a truly awful experience. Perhaps you could have a laminated chart with the ingredients in each of your preset items so that the list can be more easily accessed. My only other bit of feedback would be less ice in the juice (Heart Beet juice ordered) please as there was a substantial amount and I would rather more juice and less ice. Thank you. I was very impressed by the newly opened restaurant. The restaurant originally just came from my old place of study, Münster back in Germany. Never expected it here in Bali 😄 Even back then, I loved the concept and went there at least twice a week for a bite to eat.

If you are looking for balanced, fresh and protein-rich vegetarian/vegan food, it is definitely one of the best places to go. Whether it's to go as a roll or box, or to linger in the cute modern restaurant with a rice bowl while listening to good music, you can always find the right thing here. With the many different toppings, you can try something different every time and it never gets boring.

My favourite roll at the moment is: Chilli Humus + mixed salad+ broccoli+ sweet potato, topped with tropical garlic sauce and as a vegan special I go for either the falaffel or the vegan kebab!
