Ocin is about 10 to 20 mins drive outside of Ubud Ctr. This is basically a babi guling restaurant that serves delightful roasted pork.
Depending on traffic conditions, coming to Ocin can be a very pleasant experience. But we were affected by quite bad traffic which made us tired.
However, upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely ambience and good vibes, very refreshing.
Well decorated and designed, Ocin is set in lush greenery overlooking the wilderness at the back side. Gives a splendid flora & fauna touch to the place.
Food wise, we ordered the Biyasa basic set with extra samsam roasted belly pork, pork knuckle soup and 2 avocado juice.
The pork was tender, moist and savoury. The crispy parts had a nice bite to it. Flavour was alright but not as intense as some other babi guling we have had before. The avocado juice was a bit diluted but was good enough as a thirst quencher.
Price was reasonable for a place like this. Service was the typical Balinese style with smiles. English widely spoken with ease.
Parking was also a piece of cake at this place. So it's surely worth a trip here if you happen to be in Ubud. For me, overall a very nice...
Read moreLong story short, after trapped by Ubud traffic jam and rain, there was no eatery with decent parking lot and most of them must park on roadside which is makes difficult for us ( 3 adult and 2 kids ) in rain situation. Find this gem while driving around way back home starving, the place is beaitiful ,they have indoor and outdoor with green garden. Also the parking space is wide for a few car, saw Valet sign there, they might offer valet service if the parking full which is super helpful. We choose indoor as we bring kids, the waiter is super friendly, and helpful. Food is delicious and good for value ( sure is affordable ). They have many food variety, my mother not eat pork, they have chicken and other selection. The lady owner also caring, seeing us bring kids she lend a toy to our youngest boy that keep him busy while we adult eating. Decent platter of Babo guling here, definitely better than fake babi guling here in Canggu where I live 🤣 Would love to recommend this place for family and social gathering as they provide good...
Read moreAverage taste and overpriced. The meat portion was very small, and the size of the pork skin didn’t match the picture. There was barely any meat in the broth, mostly just jukut ares. The plate portions were the same—very little meat and lots of vegetables. The sate lilit looked like the picture, but I didn’t expect it to be so small. The taste was standard. The ambiance was fine because it’s clean and close to nature, but places like this are common in Bali, with larger portions of food. It's hard to believe that this portion size is sold for 40k here. Not recommended.
Service needs improvement. The waiter who attended to me while I was looking at the menu kept tapping his fingers on the table. Another waiter, who was supposed to offer klepon and crackers before the main meal, didn’t present them properly. They need...
