TL;DR: Completely disappointing experience, 0 responsibility taken from any of the workers, wrong orders, most of the menu missing, begging for good reviews in exchange for free ice cream. HORRIBLE.

They offer free ice cream for reviews. It is beyond me the amount of good reviews this place has and it does NOT relate at all to the quality.

I made reservation for Christmas Eve a month in advance for 20 people. Once we arrived we ordered food. Few minutes later a waiter came back to us to say that a few things of the menu had ran out so we changed them. This happened 2 more times and we kept changing and adjusting UNTIL THE MANAGER CAME to say that they also ran out of NOODLES. At this point a solid 70-80% of the menu was out: all noodle dishes; all seafood dishes; all salads; entire western menu;

At this point the majority of our group had no choice but to order rice with chicken. I tried discussing this with the manager but he refused to take any responsibility. Our experience was effectively ruined by this point as there was only 3-4 dishes available (all of them with rice and chicken).

Many mistakes in the orders, one specific dish was ordered not spicy and brought spicy so we had to give it back to be changed but they just kept on bringing it spicy over and over again.

The first dish that we ordered as soon as we walked in was the last dish to come (over 2hrs later).

They said they would make us 30% discount and at the end presented me with the bill apologising for everything but when I checked it was just 10% discount, probably hoping I wouldn’t notice. I told them and they had another talk with the manager until finally applying the...

How this place has 4,8 stars is beyond me. We booked a month ago for 20 person reservation. We come as only 14 people on Christmas yet they somehow manage to have NO food on the menu. No seafood, no salad, no Western food, not EVEN noodles as it all “ran out”, I’d say a solid 70% of the menu was out. They gave the excuse of their suppliers being closed a week before Christmas, but our reservation was a month before this. The manager should be fired for such poor management, even without your suppliers should you not have expected so many guests at your restaurant on Christmas? Can you not even go buy noodles at the store? It is not an exaggeration when I say I have never had a worse restaurant experience, everyone I was with even tolerated it when there was no seafood or Western food but they just kept coming back to say that more and more from the menu was missing. If you were unable to supply enough food for Christmas because your suppliers closed a week ago for Christmas, why could you not have even called us to cancel. Why lead us on and let us come on Christmas night to find out theres nothing, leaving us with almost no option (including going somewhere else as we are many people) on Christmas night. As I write this review it has been 1 hour and a half and my food has not come and the restaurant is closing in 20 minutes and another person ordered non-spicy chicken and they brought chicken with spice and the...

We tried this restaurant during our visit to Ubud. Famous fornthe instagramable vibes is like a mini forest inside the premise. I suggest you come around 5pm to 6pm as the weather more chilling and you can see the lights around the premises, if it's too dark then you cannot have a good photos. Alright, back to the menu, as a starter we ordered Tahu Isi and Pisang Gulung, both taste great and authentic, the pisang guling comes with coconut ice cream and with a sugar cane syrup, makes it delicious combination. For the main course, we ordered Gurame Bakar and Bebek Rempah Di Wedja, the Gurame bakar is so yummy they marinated like bbq sauce and then grilled, it comes with sambal matah so you can mixed up to add the flavourness. For the Bebek Rempah, to me it's just so so and nothing special, although it has the approved marks on the menu, I thought it will be outstanding but it just a normal fried duck, only the sambal makes it different. For dessert we ordered Es Wodeng, this bring back my childhood memories, they keep it original with the combination of coconut ice, black rice, bread, avocado, jack fruit and pearl sago, it's lovely. Overall, the food taste good, the atmosphere is good for taking pictures, but the staff most often than not is unreachable, I guess depends on where you are seated and like my case is quite difficult to reach iut to them to order some add-on or to request something, so a bit annoying.

This place is so overrated. We ordered the - RAHANG TUNA TIMBUNGAN , it was so fishy and bland. 2/10 - GURAME BAKAR, the sauce was so dry and wasn't sweet. Fish is so dry ! 3/10 - JUKUT PLECING KANGKUNG, this is SUPER spicy and we couldn't take it at all. Even my friend who loves spicy couldn't take it. 2/10 - TAHU ISI - this was ok. The dish is fragrant with filling inside. 7/10 - IKAN MEKUAH - The soup is one of the better dish out of the lot. But again the fish is so dry ! 6/10 - Coconut Juice - Sour. 1/10 I seriously don't know what's wrong with all the fish dish we ordered it was so bad. So dry and fishy. Tried ordering some dessert and wasnt available either and they only informed as later and they forgot our order after we changed it. Tonight's meal was the worst we had. What a day to end our last dinner in Bali. Staffs are not attentive and friendly at all. We don't know the dish already included rice and we ordered extra and they didn't even advise. Also when we tried to order Sate Ayam they forgot our order and we had to cancel only after we asked. The only saving grace for this restaurant is they have pretty nice landscape and decorations for photo taking. FYI it is also a pretty long walk from the entrance drop off to the restaurant. Wear proper shoes because a it's all pebbles pavement from the entrance .

Nestled amidst lush rice fields in the peaceful Mas area of Ubud, Wedja Restaurant offers an enchanting dining escape that blends natural beauty, thoughtful design, and delicious cuisine . From the moment you enter, you're surrounded by stunning garden landscaping, serene lotus ponds, and Instagram-worthy spots like the "Lotus Bridge" and vintage Bali doorways that feel magical and unique . The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Balinese and creative Western dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients . Standout options include flavorful Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng, along with signature dishes like crispy duck, Bebek Betutu, and ayam timbungan . Many reviews highlight these dishes as particularly satisfying and authentic . Service at Wedja is consistently lauded for its warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming experience that adds to the charm of the setting . The atmosphere is tranquil and elegant—ideal for a peaceful lunch or relaxed dinner immersed in Bali’s rice‑paddy landscape . If you're searching for a restaurant that combines serene scenery, creative home‑style cooking, and exceptional service, Wedja Bali is an absolute must-visit. Each meal feels both nourishing and memorable, framed by beautiful views that truly capture the spirit of Ubud.
