Think carefully before stepping in here, it's not just the coffee that leaves a bitter aftertaste. The animals used for this are in bad conditions!!
Upon entering you will be kindly welcomed by a lady who’ll give you a tour and explain the cultivation. On the grounds also are 2 animals 'exhibited' in a cage which is way too small, making the beasts very anxious and stressed. You’ll be guided further, followed by a coffee and tea tasting of different flavors. Nice we thought, until it turns out that you’re not planning to spend €30 on a bag of coffee, only a bag of tea which is also quite expensive (€15!!). After a number of pushy unsuccessful sales attempts, the mood changed and the lady suddenly is lot less friendly than when we arrived.
This shows that it’s actually just a tourist trap like many many others, only this one includes animal abuse. I would definitely not recommend...
Read moreI don’t know why this is not very famous spot, but I loved it. Tari, the lady that showed us around, is so helpful, she showed us the whole production process. We tasted different types of coffee and teas. For me, it was one of the most interesting experience in Bali. Yes, the products are a bit expensive, but I pay more for poor quality starbucks coffee. Natural products cost more. You should try the avocado chocolate, avocado tea and cocoa and spices tea. They gave us free samples of all coffee. Tari stayed with us for about 30 minutes and we talked about how they produce the coffee and the origins of it. Great experience! If you are not a coffee lover, you will still enjoy the variety of teas...

I said it looked sad and she said it was asleep and they sleep with their eyes open. At which point it moved its head to another spot so I don’t think it was. She the explained they were raised like pets for this purpose and the ones that produce the coffee are kept in a factory and released periodically to eat the coffee beans on demand. If this is how you want to get your coffee when there are perfectly good non abusive methods from just plants then take a look within yourself. In this day and age it is not ok!! It’s an unethical gimmick for...
