Okuta — Restaurant in Bali

We have visited this place many times for the past years since we live nearby and we had many guests visiting from different parts of the world, we always brought them to this place whenever we visited kintamani, but sadly service is getting worse each time we visited though.

22 august 2023, my order of green thai curry (which was my regular menu) had one of the veggie went bad. At first, they return my order back to the kitchen and offer me a replacement. Then, I asked them if it was ok to change the menu, since it’s a problem with one of the ingredients of that particular me, and i don’t want to eat another bad veggie. They accepted, and i ordered their chili scrambled eggs which is a cheaper replacement.

Moments later, they went back to me and said that the green curry was fine, both the kitchen staff and supervisor said so, and they said i cannot cancel the green curry because of it. They also said that they will still proceed to charge me both the green curry and scrambled eggs, since the order of scrambled eggs is already in the making. I also can’t get my green curry back, since they already returned it to the kitchen.

In the end, we asked them again to cancel the scrambled eggs since it wasn’t our fault that they offer us to replace our meal, they eventually agreed, and still charge us the green curry. I didn’t know if it was really the supervisor’s decision, but we did not meet them, we were only told by the male server. IT WAS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. Not returning back to this...

They need to improve the service, when we were came it was around 2 pm, not so many guest around that time, we choose table with view to the mountain, they say that the table is sharing table max for 3 people, we look to another table and some of them only 2 people sit there, and clearly it was not sharing table, so we still choose that table and their face is changing, the waitress not smiling anymore, as if they doesnt want us to sit to that table, very unprofessional and rude!

We also want to order some tea, the waitress answer that the tea i choose is sold out, and she said only 2 tipes of tea left, but without giving explanation of what kind of tea, (again i think its because we sit at that table)

It was on the friday we came, but not around meals time (it was way over lunch) and not many people in the restaurant, if they dont want people to sit there just put minimum charge of the table its better than lie if the table is sharing, etc and never give bad attitude to a customer especially you are on the hospitality industry !

The cake we order was not good, too sweet and dense, seriously, there's more better restaurant in that area...

This visit was very disappointing. The view and atmosphere of the place brought us here. My husband recommended this place after a couple of drinks & lunch stops on motorbike trips in the past year.. The “hot food” ie salmon rice, beef etc all arrived cold as if reheated, and the portion is tiny, aditionally the menu is extremely misleading the photo do not reflect the offering, and the descriptions for example of Steak Frite ( which means steak and fries in french and we were with 2 french) came with a bad potato sauce. When we tried to ask them to fix the food by asking for fries or more mash potato “sauce” to improve our meals, they told us we were wrong and that we misunderstood the menu and when we asked to speak to a manager or chef they refused. I had the teriyaki salmon which was alright but rice was cold and a tiny portion but lucky I wasnt hungry. The service was terrible. It wasnt busy and around 5pm. I can only recommend the juice drink and view. There are better places only a few minute further down that we discovered on other days. I hope the owner can reflect on...
