We came to Paperhills on recommendation of our accommodation. We are grateful we did.
We experienced a pastry and coffee experience akin to what we are used to in Australia. The quality of the pastry was divine, global quality👌 I enjoyed the “Supreme Pistachio” which had the perfect combination of flakiness and pistachio insides. The crème brûlée coffee bubble tea was also a highlight, I had this iced and it was delicious, a sensory experience too with the bubbles.’ The venue has plenty of seating options for groups and styles of meeting. The downstairs area has a lovely small pool with photo opportunities on the day beds and the platform. The decor is very nice.
The major downfall to the venue was the staff. We really struggled to get service. We moved locations to the bottom floor after a couple hours and the service was worse. We were not seen for ages and had constantly try to wave down or walk up to a staff member to take an order. I would recommend to the owner to please train the staff to be as attentive as staff at other venues across Bali. We would have preferred them to check in regularly and see if we would like more drinks or food rather than being ignored.
The main draw card for us for this venue is it is one of the only in Kintamani locations that could give us a cocktail menu and a lovely happy hour. They’re doing the right thing by adopting these small...
Read moreI was coming here for a coffee break at afternoon time, around 1 p.m. But the parking lot was packed! But it was not charged, well, that was fine. I first chose the table outside, then moving inside bcz of the rain. Idk exactly how many floors were there, since they have 3 downstair rooms with the pool and mountain view as the photo spots (at the bottom floor). The toilet on downstairs. The weather was a bit windy and raining after. They offer you blanket if you need one during your visit. I sat by the window (outside table) facing Mt. Batur. The ambience was clean and cozy and ofc great view of Mt. Batur, there was only few flies. I think they need to fix the glass door heading to downstairs, it sounds too loud when it opens, a bit annoying. For food, it's various. I just ordered some drinks and cakes, which was all good. The carrot cake is the best for me, it has nuts and cream cheese in it. Superb! The pistachio croissant was too sweet for me. While the iced aren coffee was not sweet at all, it was bitter. For the price, it was pricey. Mostly starting from IDR 50k. For a carrot cake, a croissant, reg fries, 2 coffee, and iced tea cost me IDR 300k++ with tax. The staff was really helpful and nice. Here you can pay cashless as well, no need to worry if you don't bring any cash. So, ngl it could be an option if you are in Kintamani and wanna grab some coffee or snacks....
Read moreAbsolutely gorgeous cafe, with stunning views of the mountains during sunrise!
The interiors are stunning, with many different seating areas. Personally, I would recommend the second floor indoor seating area (facing the gorgeous view) as it gets pretty hot after the sun has risen! We moved in after sitting on the sofa on the staircase as it got too hot.
Food wise, it was pretty decent - we had the avocado toast with added hash brown and big breakfast - really likely that it came with a small portion of granola. However, the toast was pretty hard, would love to try the pastries next time! We also had a hot Matcha Latte and long black which was good. Do note that the service might be slower as the cafe is pretty crowded, but no biggie as we were enjoy the scenery.
Note: I've checked via Whatsapp and there's no reservations for under 10 pax
Tips: do come early, at about 5.30am as the sun starts to rise pretty early! Although the cafe is not opened yet on weekdays, you can walk along the stretch to look for areas where you can watch the sun rise. Wished the cafe opens earlier on weekdays as well~ do bring a jacket and dress warm and it's super cold before sun rise! do come slightly before opening time as there was already a crowd waiting outside - a testament to how popular...
