My family and I went to this place on Nov 2021, this review would be a little too late but since it happened then so be it hahaha. Ahhh first of all, it’s super hard to find a place to park because the road was jammed and there was basically no area to park our car, and the parking attendants didn’t seem to care about the situation-my situations, and I was like, how could he treat the potential customer just like that, the cafe could’ve lost so many potential customers if he kept doing that, I mean, there are a lot look a like cafes nearby and I could’ve gone to another place but luckily there’s one car going out so I can park. Once I went inside there’s no staf at the lobby so I thought I can just walk in and decide where to sit, in fact there supposed to be a queue it’s just there’s none lining up hahaha the view was super awesome ngl. I went there on Saturday and what to expect, super crowded inside. There were lots of flies flying around the tables. The staff wasn’t alerted as it took a little while to clean the table but they’re actually super nice tho. The food was basic. The service was pretty normal. They have 2 floors, the 2nd floor serves authentic Balinese cuisines and the 1st floor where my table was serves western cuisines. I should’ve went to the 2nd floor instead as it radiates more calm and chill vibes sadly I was late to realize it. After I finished eating and went to pay the indoor area was a little bit cleared, maybe it was just about visiting time hahaha Would I go back to revisit this Cafe? I don’t think so. I guess I’ve had enough experience...

We visited El Lago Café yesterday, and overall, the experience felt overrated.
There’s no denying the stunning view of the nearby volcano – it’s truly the star attraction and understandably why so many people are drawn to this location. However, beyond the view, the venue felt like a missed opportunity for something truly special.
The café itself is dated in its presentation and lacks the level of maintenance you’d expect for a premium destination. With the right investment and attention to detail, this place could easily rise to a four-star experience – but at the moment, I would rate it around two to three stars.
The menu is heavily Japanese-inspired, which was interesting, but the food overall was adequate – not bad, but certainly not memorable either. On the upside, the coffee was a highlight – smooth, well-made, and genuinely enjoyable.
There was some confusion around alternative milk options, largely due to a language barrier. While the staff were friendly, welcoming, and tried their best to be accommodating, it was clear they sometimes struggled with English, which was spoken by most patrons around us. Considering the café draws an international crowd, improving communication in English would enhance the experience significantly.
In summary: El Lago Café has a breathtaking setting, but the venue itself doesn’t live up to its potential. With some thoughtful improvements, it could offer a truly memorable experience – but for now, it remains a place that’s all about the view and unfortunately for us the view was...

The staff were super friendly and helpful, one lady to note was Bu Jro Ustini in which she was very encouraging and hands-om helpful to take photos and videos for the customers in the cafe.
The interior theme for el lago is like Mediterranean style with a lot of rounded arc. The food they offer were Japanese, with various sushi and also ramen available. They also served coffee and cakes as well. The food were all home made, including the cakes. The price point were medium.
The food taste were not bad, I recommend the home made ice cream which has a unique tasta and sweet texture, on top of their Secret Coffee by el lago. Their matcha cake (chiffon based) is a bit on the dry side. Meanwhile the ramen is a comforting broth to eat on the chilly morning. They have different type of chicken jf you choose spicy/non-spicy variations.
All in all, if you want to focus on taking beautiful pictures and admiring the landscape this is the...
