My mixed sate arrived super burned, completely black on one side and un-chew-able, hard like rubber. I called the waiter and asked to change, and agreed that only the burned pieces need to be changed (pork and beef pieces) and that the unburned (chicken) i'm happy to eat as is. All good so far. When my friend's eggs benny arrived, for her taste there was way too much vinegar in the sauce. So she called the waiter and asked to make the same but without sauce. She was actually happy to pay for both portions as this wasn't necessarily a mistake of the resto, but her taste preference.
She didn't even have a chance to say that.
A SUPER angry manager flies in, and pretty much starts shouting at us straight away. Man, neither of us are timid, but that was legit scary. I don't even know what he was raving about. Twice I told hem very calmly if he could calm down because he's making us uncomfortable with his shouting. He didn't give us a chance to talk, he asked no questions, just went on and on until my friend was almost crying. She went silent and he went on and on and on. I don't even know what exactly he was raving about. For some reason he decided to explain to my friend that the meat (that I ordered) always is hard and burned, that's how things are done in Indonesia. Or something along those lines, I stopped engaging him after it became clear something is not right with him as I didn't want to provoke his unstable behaviour even more. I get it, 2 complaints from 1 table make us look like fussy princesses, but we weren't behaving like that. And surely even if we were acting all precious in his eyes, we could have expected a better service than being bullied by the manager.
Dear manager, please stop scaring customers, especially customers who've been bringing a group to your restaurant every week for the past several months, pandemic months including. There are too many options around with equally pretty view and more or less the same food at same or...
Read moreWe have been coming here regularly and have recommended the place to everyone but the past week experiences have been nightmares.
We often order the same thing and have no issues doing that. Staff also kind of know what we like. We showed up last Saturday expecting it would be an easy and quick dinner with the family. The server told us that she couldn't and has never granted any requests to change the side dish rice to fries (we are just not fond of rice). I told her I've done it more than I could count and she insisted. And then she asked how I would like my white fish cooked. Rare, medium rare or well done. I've never heard this asked on a non sashimi grade fish. I asked for it to be cooked but please not dry. That answer wasn't enough and she insisted we choose. Another staff member appeared later and explained the girl who took my order was new. Fine.
I went back last night in hope of getting a regular / better service than last time. Only to be told this time I can't change salad into stir fry veggies which we have done at least for 30 times 😂😭 we stopped eating the salad here after getting food poisoning. MANAGER / CAPTAIN CUT WIWIK appeared and rather aggressively asked me to point fingers, "who took your order before?? which staff?" I was shocked and flabbergasted. I came here once or twice a week, most of the staff have taken my order at least once. After a few minutes of us trying to explain, avoiding her toxic questions and willing to order / pay the change as an extra, she kept rambling loudly on her thoughts.
Why the blame, the aggression instead of actually solving the problems? Why create a scene in the restaurant by raising her voice at a regular customer instead of finding a way to deal with it? It was an absolutely awful and disgusting behaviour. You didn't just lose a regular customer, I'll be happily sharing this experience with others that look for...
Read more'Passo' is located right at the Jl Bypass Tanah Lot so it's convenient to reach and it's orientation towards the back and rice paddies makes for a quiet setting nice views - something people might not expect from the outside.
The place is an open air wooden joggle with decoration out of natural materials that create a laid back style and great atmosphere. A new addition is their garden sitting area that even has a pool so the place is great to spend a couple of hours.
On the menu you find a great selection of mouth watering local dishes, well made western evergreens and many popular Bali dishes like Poke Bowl with marinated tuna sashimi, Quinoa Feta Salad, Smoothie Bowls etc. No matter what you feel like, you'll find something AND you can be sure the food comes from a kitchen team that takes pride in what they put out.
Their coffee is delicious and you get the full selection from Bali Kopi to Cappuccino & Co. A mouthwatering display let's you choose a piece of cake of brownie to go with that coffee.
The staff is friendly and attentive.
Our favorites are their Fresh Fish Tacos, Tuna Steak and Balinese curries. My kids love their Burgers, Pizzas and regularly lick their fingers after having Schnitzel with mushroom sauce.
We've been going to Passo for 4 years now and can tell they have consistency while regularly updating their menu. Value for money is great, too, you can tell this place targets locals as well as visitors.
The group behind Passo also runs a place in Umalas called Nook which we have tried too and find it as convincing as this.
Great place for a relaxed and yummy meal!...
