Visited Bali again after 7 years and brought my friends to Warung Bamboo where I went on my last trip.
As usual, we were welcomed warmly by the staff. Directed to a table, gave us sufficient time to look through the menu.
Food was served hot, portion was of a good size.Pork Ribs is one dish I highly recommend. Legit yummy.
There was a local salad served with the duck which is seen in the photo I attached. The salad spells out: DELICIOUS! Sweetness, spicy level was just perfectly done!
There is a beautiful plot of land just behind the restaurant. The quietness and greenery is something my friends and I appreciated as we come from a fast paced country.
When one is in Bali, learn to relax and enjoy the beauty of it, the warmth of the people and enjoy abundance of food just like how Warung...

I ordered the fish, which had a muddy aftertaste and was overcooked. The rice was plain and underwhelming. I asked if the sauces were spicy and was told they weren’t, but they turned out to be extremely spicy, which made the dish hard to enjoy.
My husband had the duck, which was overly greasy and heavy as you can appreciate in the picture.
What really saddened us was seeing small birds kept in cages as part of the decor ☹️😤While it might be cultural, we’re in the 21st century — we should be more mindful and compassionate about animal welfare.🙏🏽
All in all, the food did not meet our expectations at all, especially for the price. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or...

It also looked nice, but there was little value. The fried duck was just fat and bones and only little meat, the vegetable kind of tasteless and no sauce for that just a tiny dab of mild chilly on the side. The so-called fresh orange juice tasted like fanta. And the price was a typical tourist price, 4x as much as you would pay in a real Warung. I would pay the price if the food would match the location, but this is just another shiny place where you pay for the location instead of the food. And that is so disappointing, that I can't even...
