I've been here twice, both on a Saturday because my friends and I wanted to dine while listening to 80s and 90s goodies by Absolut (their regular band). We ordered different menus each time (except for orange juice because it's our favorite). I personally love the price-to-portion and price-worthy taste of the food. Believe me. They are giant portions. So for the same price, you get twice the size compared to other restaurants plus being delicious all around. I don't have one favorite yet because they are all so so good. Special thanks to the sales marketing staff who helped us book a table & ordered our food for iftar last weekend.
But I hope they would fix the praying room. It is such a dumping place, not worthy of a place to pray. One friend said the praying room is what makes her dread going to this restaurant. It is super duper tiny where the entrance and exit are the same at the front, and no separation for male and female. So you enter facing people's praying faces. This is unethical and impolite. I think you have a big-enough space to set up a nicer praying place, not only for customers but also for your staffs. I work in international organizations that make praying rooms as comfortable & beautiful possible can so staffs are happy to be at work. Although there is a big masjid nearby, it would be more considerate if the restaurant also provides a nice praying area. Please consider it, for both the customers and...
Read moreIt is said that in 1903, a French ship named ‘La Seyne’ docked at Tanjung Priok. This ship carried Dutch settlers known as ‘The Dutch Boers’ from South Africa. These Boers were famous for establishing plantations in Pengalengan, Lembang.
Bandung in the past was a fertile region and was renowned as a producer of high-quality milk. To expand their business, the Boers established the Bandoengsche Melk Centrale (BMC) or Bandung Milk Center to sell the products from their plantations and livestock farms. Not only did BMC collect milk from the Boers' companies, but it also became the first milk center in Bandung.
Due to its quality, a BMC director once wrote this slogan: “Don’t forget that in all of the Dutch East Indies, there is only one Milk Central, and that is the Bandoengsche Melkcentrale!”
To this day, BMC remains a staple in the heart of Bandung and continues to offer its signature menu items. There is pure milk, milkshakes, yogurt shakes, yogurt cocktails, ice cream, tiramisu, masala tea, cakes, kefir, juice, piña colada, shalimar, goat milk, beef tail soup, gado-gado, nasi bakar, nasi pepes, gulai, nasi liwet, fried potatoes, risoles, baked macaroni,...
Read moreComing to this place for lunch last week and I asked for being seated in non smoking area. I chose to sit in the indoor area but the waitress that helped us said it was all reserved and nonsmoking area left was at the front side/ porch if the restaurant. In the middle of our lunch we were disturbed by other guests who sat close to us. And yes those guests were smoking. It triggered my anger because in the middle of enjoying lunch we were disturbed by smoke ans cigarette smell. Without thinking twice I asked the waitress that help us earlier to move us to indoor area, which allntables were claimed as reserved, also the place that I aksed to be seated before. But until we finished our lunch and ready to leave the restaurant, those tables were STILL empty. Seriously that was such an annoying experience. Be CLEAR about your smoking and non smoking area! Food was not special, salmon was too dry, fish and chips were too batter, like no fish more batter and fish and tofu in tausi sauce was too salty. Only soto Bandung was...
