The good: --Croquette, salmon nori, salmon fried rice, poached pear and tenderloin fried rice taste good. -- presentation is generally beautiful -- Service are generally friendly
The bad: --The waitress told me the flavored hot tea was refillable. And only after serving and having us take the first sip, did she say "you can only refill once". Seriously? Isn't that scamming? Why not just give us one big serving with no refills? Why not tell customers that the refill can only be done once before we order it? -- Also, the pot it was served in was only 1/3 full. For the refills, I need to specifically ask them to refill closer to the brim. Fortunately, they obliged. --The black seafood angel hair pasta was NOT angel hair pasta (capellini). I told the waitress that it is VERY IMPORTANT that I get actual angel hair pasta (very thin) and not normal spaghetti pasta (quite a bit thicker). I even asked her to confirm with her superiors. She asked and came back to confirm that it will be angel hair pasta. And what do you know, the pasta is even thicker than a normal spaghetti 🤦🏻♂️ -- Said seafood black "angel hair" pasta dish is bland -- I asked for tender, soft, slow cooked ribs. But what was served, was tough and while I expected beef ribs, it really was pork. The meat was white. They didn't specify this on the menu. -- And to cut the tough meat above, we were given butter knife. Don't know what they were thinking 😑. -- Ended up not finishing the seafood pasta and the ribs. Couldn't finish them and brought them home for tweaking, so they are more edible. Can't just throw them away, since they are not exactly cheap.
Update: I apologize if I was wrong about the pork. The meat seemed white to me. But on second thought, it could have been beef that is overcooked, causing the meat to turn very...
Read moreOrdered the truffle pasta, berry smoothies, and tiramisu (will be reviewing one by one) and reason for taking down 1 star will be written below
i feel like circolo is leaning towards a more expensive/high class restaurant, but what i love is that they still sell some menus that i think is really affordable, take example the pasta i ordered it was 50K, along with their tuna spaghetti and creamy crab pasta which my friends ordered, and they were all decent too, and the rest of the pasta menu was around 75-95K, so it was really nice that they give options 🤝🏻 the tiramisu is 55K, i think the portion will be perfect for 2 person, taste wise not the best, but its okay 👍🏻 lastly i feel the downside was the drinks, the drinks here are quite expensive (and i noticed u can’t even bring your own water bottle), a glass of ice tea (the glass was quite small) is 30K, so i opt for their smoothies which was 38K but…. the flavor wasn’t the best, tasted quite artificial, and also the reason that i took 1 star down is because of what i saw, we sat quite near the bar and i can see directly that the glasses that were used is first washed there (this was okay), and then they were wiped by this towel that looked so dirty 😭 and they just hang it on top of big thermos (idk what’s inside, like either hot water or hot tea). so its kindda disappointing given that they look like a high class resto, i mean everything else aside from this is amazing, i just wish they put more effort on...
Read moreCame in for lunch (1pm-ish?) with my wife, infant son, and in-laws. Service was great, but not long after we were seated, some welding work started near us which generated very loud noises and some dust. The noise was really loud even for us adults so I can't imagine how uncomfortable it was for my son. Unfortunately no one came to us and offered to relocate us to another table and we have to request for this ourselves.
The issue we had with this is why were such work done during lunchtime while this could have been done earlier before the place opened, and also if this is really an urgent, last-minute task, why were we still seated there; why did no one communicated to the hosts to block off that particular zone?
On the food: Salmon on Boat and the two Asian/Indonesian dishes we ordered were great (buntut bakar and bebek crispy) but the pasta (tagliatelle bistecca) was a huge disappointment especially for a place which markets itself as an authentic Italian restaurant; the pasta were overcooked and the tagliatelle strains were sticking to each other.
Hopefully this was just a fluke, and we were just unlucky.
I really hope the communication between staff members and the quality of the pasta could be improved since I personally believe there is a lot of...
