The best Pork Ramen in bandung. At least for now. They worth their price!
Place: Quiet, cozy, warm woody feelings, kinda feels like Sushi tei, but less noisy. Not too many seatings available.
Service: Very good, one day i got a stale wantan, and they change the whole bowl of the ramen. Staffs were good, product knowledge was good too.
Food: i dont know how authentic they are cos i never go to japan. Their portion is big, even the reguler one. But here it is Wantan Men: 6 wantan, soft boiled egg and a chasiu. Creamy but light soup. The taste was kinda boring for me. Felt super full eating this. Shiro ramen: rich creamy soup, love it. Paired well with the chili oil. Jigoku ramen: the ramen known for its spiciness level. They do some contest with it. I find it boring tho, cant feel nothing beside the spiciness. Cant feel the taste of the soup. Aka Ramen: my FAVORITE, the spicy and rich but light soup matched very well, love every sip of the soup. Good job! Kakiage: basically a fancy Bala-bala. Lol. Fight me if you disagree. Chahan: a fried rice, but a good one. Liked it very much Gyoza: nothing special, but a decent one.
Altho they're kinda pricey, but they worth every penny! They pay attention to the quality of their ingredient. Kudos.

Read moreI went in with low expectations, but the tonkotsu ramen that I ordered failed to meet even that low level of expectation. The tonkotsu broth, which had zero thickness and richness that you would expect from an authentic tonkotsu ramen, tasted even worse than the instant tonkotsu ramen that you can buy in Japanese convenient stores. The noodle, too, was clearly not freshly made. The kuro ramen, which my partner ordered, was not any better.
Had the price been more economical, the poor quality of the ramen served at this restaurant could have been forgiven. However, the tonkotsu ramen costs 81k here. And, with that price, the topping is limited to one slice of chashu. Egg is not included. To be honest, I feel cheated. I do not expect Fukuoka-quality tonkotsu in Bandung, but this just is not proper tonkotsu ramen by any measure (anyone who says otherwise, you can safely assume, has not tried authentic Hakata ramen). If you are craving ramen, I suggest that you just grab a Japanese cup noodle from the nearby Papaya Supermarket. At least you'd be paying...
Read moreA hidden Ramen gem in the heart of Bandung! In Indonesia, where pork is hard to come by, this restaurant makes no excuses and serves Tonkotsu Ramen (pork bone broth) as their signature dish.
The soup was rich, deep and flavorful, very close to what you would get if you order Tonkotsu in Tokyo. The pork belly melts in your mouth, the pickled Zasai and mushroom sides were fresh and crunchy. The buckwheat noodles - amazing, thick, chewy and full of body and flavor on their own.
They service is kind and polite, the atmosphere pleasantly quiet and removed from the constant insanity that is Bandung traffic. The restaurant is tucked away on the second floor of what kind of looks like a micro mall if you will, with just a hand...
