Waroeng Sate Kardjan — Restaurant in Bandung City

Waroeng Sate Kardjan is one of the best satay I've ever had!

This is a legendary satay restaurant with a very humble location. Suitable for a low-key dining with family or friends. Foods here are top notch. I ordered beef and lamb satay, both are so tender! They serve the satay on hotplates to preserve the heat, real clever! The lamb (kambing) is very tender, no smell and juicy. You can request for the fat cuts (gajih) too, makes it super juicy!

I also ordered tongseng and gulai kambing. I personally like the gulai much better, it's creamy and rich in spices. For the tongseng, I recommend to add a bit of soy sauce in it to give a bit of oomph there.

If you're planning to eat here, I recommend to order iced orange, it will complete your palate!

I ordered the sate kambing, gule and tongseng kambing. The sate kambing was perfectly grilled, with tender and juicy meat that was well-marinated and had a beautiful char. The peanut sauce was rich and creamy, complementing the satay wonderfully. The gule kambing was a flavorful and comforting soup, with tender goat meat and a rich, aromatic broth. Sate meat were all tender and delicious. Sate buntel was sold out by dinner time when I went there, about 7.30pm. The beef(sapi), chicken (ayam), mutton (kambing) were all grilled/ barbecued a la minute. Served on a hot plate, the sate were sizzling and aromatic. The sweet caramelised dark sauce and sweet peanut sauce for pairing the sate with were fragrant and compliments the sate well. Each portion of sate, of 10 sticks, is priced at 44K rupiah. Not the cheapest, but this is some good sate you'll be paying for. We ordered a second round of 20 sticks after a first round of 30 sticks...
