Ordered two servings of pastas & drinks, a few minutes later was told that the pasta that I had ordered was unavailable that day. I didn’t mind, changed the order to another pasta dish. Drinks came, then my friend’s food came about 20 minutes later. After waiting for a long time for the other food, we asked the server & he told us that the other pasta dish (the order that was already changed from the previous pasta dish because it was unavailable) was ALSO unavailable… after an additional 40 minutes of waiting, we had to ask the server ourselves only to be told that the dish we were waiting for cannot be ordered… had to cancel by that point.
It was super crowded so I can understand if the food comes a bit late, but it is upsetting that I wasted 40+ minutes waiting for nothing when I could’ve been told immediately that the other pasta dish I ordered was not available so I could change to another order. There were also two other tables that were having troubles with their orders as well (given completely wrong orders).
When we went to pay, I told the woman whom I assumed was the owner about my order. She did apologize but she quickly dismissed it & read the total price… I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that she might have not heard my complaint then but it still does not give me a good impression.
I am very dissapointed in the service… it’s such a shame because the cafe itself looks really nice. We were looking forward to trying out the pastries after the main course since it’s well-liked but after the unfortunate experience we just wanted to leave the cafe…
I hope you will take this review into consideration to improve the service &...
Read moreAll the items tried were great, especially the avocado Choco rock and avocado latte! We wanted to try the pineapple crumble but it was sold out by the time we got to the place after early afternoon.
Eggs Benedict was well priced, well portioned and a worthy dish for sharing or enjoying alone. It would be better if the sauce could be slightly less sour, and the bread less tough, but it is already enjoyable as it is.
Cordon Bleu was mostly OK, but I preferred it with less sauce and a less salty ham. The coleslaw was served with an over generous amount of mayonnaise and ketchup.
The only thing that could use some improvement was the lemon Dory; the fish was slightly overcooked, making it a little too dry, and was a small compared to the pictures.
Drinks were mostly OK; the original iced tea and. Hazelnut iced mocha and es coffee kampoung did not disappoint but is outshadowed by the avocado latte.
The atmosphere of the place is also comfortable and staff are friendly.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Batam, especially to try the avocado latte and/or...
Read moreChanged my mind about this location. There is no professionalism in the way this cafe handles itself. Went a second time the next day, was welcomed by a first group of staff to enter, yet upon entering was told they only opened later. People actually take the effort to visit this cafe - and there's no certainty when they wish to start serving customers.
It's one thing to bungle up once. But to bungle up a second time with different staff, shows this cafe really needs to improve their management.
Previous review I gave 5 stars. Shame on me to be bitten twice. 1 star.
Beautiful cafe with a lovely ambience. Seems quite popular as there's never a quiet moment here. Had some miscommunication with the staff here - mistook my orders as I spoke in English rather than the colloquial Indonesian - but was easily resolved. Had the salted egg fried rice, which had actual salted egg rather than the saucy kind. Simple...
