Common Space Coffee & Bar — Restaurant in Batam City

A lovely and well-designed café that’s perfect for a chill coffee break or photo session. The space is bright and beautifully set up, with plenty of natural light pouring in—great for taking aesthetic shots or just relaxing.

We ordered two iced Americanos for less than IDR 60,000, which was a great deal. There are actually two sections next to each other (both part of the same business). We got our first drinks from the corner unit, where the staff—especially the tall guy with a face mask—could definitely be more welcoming. Then we moved next door and ordered another round of coffee; the vibe there was more comfortable.

One nice touch: if you leave a review on TripAdvisor, they offer 10% off your total bill—just make sure you give an honest one! NO CASH will be accepted in this cafe.

The only downside for us was near the end of our visit—a group came in and one guy started vaping indoors. It wasn’t clear whether indoor smoking/vaping is allowed, but it was a bit off-putting, especially since there are outdoor seats clearly marked for smoking with ashtrays provided.

You will not notice this place from outside when passing by the big road. The place is seems like hiding in between the shops around. A good cafe with nice food and cozy place to hangout. The service is good and nice, they are very polite and kind on serving the customers. They really know how to treat coffee lovers indeed. The food is good. We ordered the pancake and chicken skin. The package was great accomplished with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream. The chicken skin, in fact is good, only seems they fried it while the skin still cold, so the “taste” of fridge still there. Something to be improved, hope they aware on this. The beverage is marvelous. The es kopi susu rakyat taste good, quite unique and different with others. The brown sugar boba taste refreshing on a hot sunny day like today. The ice peach tea also good, even simple yet satisfying, some more the mint leaf increase the appetite. Good: drinks Bad: food

Got a variety of drinks including coffee, matcha and korean straberry latte. Kudos to the barista, all the drinks were good, my SIL who loves coffee gave a 👍🏻 for the coffee. Even their plain old kopi susu was satisfying for my dad. For the matcha latte, ask for zero sugar if you want to really get the matcha taste, less sugar was still too much sugar imo.

Food wise was a disappointment. Missed orders, missing ingredients and inconsistencies in their food despite ordering 2 of the same dishes. Hubby's American breakfast was missing tomatoes, my cheese ham & egg toast was missing cheese but had additional onions (I hate onions). They added the cheese after I asked about it. In addition to the hiccups, food in general wasn't delightful, just standard food.

Side note: walk further down for the main corner unit (looks better). We were at the side unit.
