Don't understand the hype surrounding this hotpot joint which we patronised as it was located opposite the place we were staying at.
Soup bases: Went with the 'Must Try' Soto soup base but it was just curry instant noodles seasoning boiled in water? All food dumped in the soto soup was stained yellow when taking out. No ingredients provided in soup base further reinforces that the soup quality is not fresh. Same goes for the other soup bases.
Ingredients: All frozen when served, including one item that was served wrongly (looked completely different from image on menu) and after much tussle with the staff, they returned with the correct menu item. Not sure if they just wanted us to accept the wrong item as they kept insisting they served us correctly before returning with a correct (different) item
Service: A little awkward having 4-5 staff loitering around your table and immediately clearing the empty plate once you've finished it. The place is clearly overstaffed. There were two tables (including us) on a Friday night and 10 staff walking around.
Drinks: We walked in with our own half drunk bottled beverages and the staff didn't say anything, UNTIL food was served at our table, and I quote verbatim "Outside drinks are not allowed, so can you please pay 20,000Rp for us allowing you to bring drinks in?" and when we tried to reason by putting our drinks away, they insisted we "purchase drinks from the menu". It didn't help that the trainee staff was sent to talk to us, while the boss was watching over from the counter, which made for an extremely uncomfortable situation for everyone. This put us off even before we began our meal. We had already ordered ~500,000Rp worth of food, so we had no idea what was the deal having to hard sell us for an additional 20,000Rp and senior staff ill-treating the trainees
Free ice cream, return voucher and sauce station: Nothing to fault here but.... with the amount spent here, please just save it for HaiDiLao or something.
Never patronising this...
Read moreI would think this review caters more to tourists - if youâre a big fan of hotpot, this is the LAST place you want to be atâŚ.
Food quality was horrendous - soup tasted like they were made with instant noodles seasoning, and the variety of soup is too little.. Ingredients were mediocre, for the amount iâm paying at batam, I would expect better quality or greater quantity..
The worst part of the meal is the service. Kudos to the trainee staff (lady wearing specs and spoke good english) giving her best to guide us along. However, I donât understand why we are made to pay 20,000IDR for our own bottled drinks, we couldâve just kept them in our bag and the problem wouldâve been solved. It was obvious the trainee was pressured by her senior/superior who was standing at the cashier doing nothing but giving judgemental eyes. This situation made everything awkward.
Overall, disappointed at how a 4.9/5 rated restaurant could be of such low quality⌠speaks alot when it is a friday night and the entire 1st floor was empty with no customers.
Please think twice if you want to visit this outlet, your money is definitely worth spending on other local food in batam...
Read moreTop service plus delicious hotpot & dimsum. This is how I describe the new hotpot place in town. VIPs room are available at the 2nd floor where we could have a private dinner with the karaoke facilities. The service is top notch where we can call the service thru the menu pad. Ordering were digitalized so we could order from the pad ourselves. The hotpot were served individually so we could choose according to our taste. It is a halal hotpot chain. Come and try!
