Was there in the morning of Tuesday, 5th Dec 2023. Via private charter coach bus. There are no other shops around. Still up for tenancy. So it's just the Batam layer cake factory. Order in the morning and our driver came back to collect all our orders in the evening 5pm. Freshly baked. Limited samples given. Original, Mocha and cinnamon. The best was Mocha. Then Cinnamon and finally original. Oh how I wish I can buy them all. Hopefully next time. Too pricey to buy them all whole cakes unless I can find someone to share halves in my group. Too much to carry back home also. It was Xmas season so they had other bakes like tarts and cookies. Two tables outside to sit and eat Magnum ice-cream and that's all. Only whole cakes purchase. Can request to put in halves. I only bought the Original for my husband. Next time I will buy the Mocha cake. Haha.

Recommended by our local driver, and it truly lived up to the praise! We bought the Super Premium and Premium layer cakes as well as pineapple tarts. They use premium butter like Golden Churn, which makes the cakes rich, moist, and fragrant. The pineapple tarts are buttery and perfectly balanced too. A must-visit spot for authentic Batam treats to bring home.

Our driver recommended this place as it’s locally made and more authentic taste. Through the glass window you can see the layer cake making in process. We bought the original flavor and it taste to buttery and is also not too sweet. They delivered freshly made cakes the next day to our hotel just in time when we were departing Batam.

This was highly recommended but what a disappointment! The number of layers is less than standard 12-14 layers and each layer is so thick; whereas what I can find in local kueh lapis is at least double the number of layers. Kueh Lapis is known for its labour-intensive baking of each layer to be place upon one layer after another. It’s no doubt buttery BUT I ordered the Cinnamon and it totally lacks the cinnamon mixed taste. It’s also not considered that cheap given that it is supposedly ISO certified. It is again over-rated and it would be my first and last time buying...

We walked in to buy kek lapis and were greeted by such a friendly staff member at the counter. She kindly offered us samples of different flavours to try. The kids especially loved the mocha flavour so much! We bought 1kg of mocha kek lapis.

The staff also gave us a great tip: to have it delivered to our homestay before we left, so the kek lapis would stay fresh longer. The taste was absolutely delicious, rich, moist, and perfectly layered. Highly recommended for anyone looking to buy...
