Convenient location, just a stone's throw away from BCS mall. Before/after visiting the mall or while waiting for your movie to start, just hop across the street and check this place out!
For all coffee fanatics, there are a myriad of beans to choose from; just hit up the friendly barista to find out more. If your coffee knowledge is limited or you’ve had a long day and just want a cuppa, you can’t go wrong with their signature ice latte. After escaping from the sweltering afternoon heat, the first sip of the drink brings a sweet, refreshing taste, followed by the oomph of the perfectly roasted blend of coffee in which immediately perks you up!
For food, I highly recommend their Egg benedict salmon. Price is affordable for the quality of food you get, as the salmon is really fresh and goes in tandem with the poached egg and sliced avocado, all sitting nicely on the freshly grilled bread, which is really flavourful in itself! Combine everything together, and you have a delicious treat awaiting you.
After this savoury dish, treat yourself to their crepes to complete your meal! I ordered the milo dinosaur, which was layered to perfection, each bite bringing back a familiar texture akin to the snack in the kueh lapis, but with a pleasant twist in terms of flavour.
The decor, with walls clad in white and decorated by gunnysacks of coffee beans, brings across a certain rustic, albeit classy impression. There are two levels to the cafe, majority of the first level presented a unique take compared to the more common seating arrangement.
It’s concept, designed as cascading platforms, hosted a series of block-like tables paired together with chair cushions, translated to a homely atmosphere where you can just sit and chill with your date or friends/family! Also, there are power and usb outlets readily available for all your charging needs. The second level, boasts a bigger space and the more traditional seatings, should you have a bigger group.
My friends and I had a great experience overall, a must to drop by the next time you...
Read moreDidn’t expect much at first but everything turned out so good. We had the Strawberry Shortcake and it was way better than I thought. The sponge was moist and melty, I actually prefer this kind of texture than the super soft dry ones. The whipped cream wasn’t oily and the strawberry jam tasted very fresh, not too sweet, with real chunks of strawberry in it. The Honey Seasalt Croissant was kinda confusing because I couldn’t taste any seasalt at all? but the buttery flakes were really nice and crispy. Maybe they can make the sea salt flavor stand out more. For the coffee, I asked for vanilla on the side (coffee police please don’t judge me) and it made it even better. I don’t know much about coffee but this is hands down one of the best lattes I’ve had in Batam. We also ordered the Ukimidori Matcha and it was umami, with a fruity aftertaste. We thought the matcha wasn’t deep and bold enough, probably because of the matcha-to-milk ratio. Another thing is the matcha wasn’t the microfoamy, thick, velvety, fluffy type and more on the lighter side which was a bit disappointing. I prefer a nutty flavor profile so maybe i’ll come back to try their other matcha. The place is cozy and minimalist, perfect for chilling or catching up with friends If only they opened until...
Read moreA female waitress tried to learn from the male waiter, he’s so good at talking and always smiling. But the girl? I don’t even know, is she PMS-ing or what? So earlier, there was a fly in my friend’s coffee, and when they replaced it, the girl just said, “Here’s the coffee with the fly earlier.” Wow no apology, not even a smile. A fly in the drink! Like it’s a totally normal thing.
And not just that. My friend ordered food, and it took almost an hour or more, didn’t show up. When we asked the waitress about it, all she said was, “Yeah, I’ve already input it,” or “It’s being made,” but it took forever. So my friend, already super hungry and annoyed, went to the cashier, and the cashier actually checked with the kitchen. Turns out they were just waiting for the chicken to be fried, and the cashier even asked if we wanted to wait or cancel.
Now that’s how the waitress should’ve handled it. She should’ve gone and checked with the kitchen to see why a simple fried rice order was taking that long. Not just say stuff like “I already input it” or “It’s being made” without actually checking. It’s such a shame, the place is so nice, but the staff quality...
