For many years my family and I have been frequent visitors to several branches of the Ta Wan restaurant chain in Bogor, Bekasi and Jakarta. However, on my most recent vist to the branch in Botani Square, Bogor, I asked the waiter if he would transfer my ice lemon tea to a larger glass and top it up with water, due to the fact that it was both too strong and too sweet. He refused, claiming that the restaurant had no larger glasses. I told him that I had seen other drinks being served in larger glasses and even showed him the larger glasses on the munu photos. He still refused, but now claimed that it was against restaurant policy. Even when I said that he could top it up with tap water if he was concerned about taking water from the Aqua dispenser, he still claimed he could not do this and reiterated his claim that It was against the restaurant policy. Eventually, and only after an enourmous and stressfull argument, he agreed, reluctantly, to transfer it to a slightly larger glass.

The result of which is that they have now lost a customer who visited their restaurant at least twice per month, and on each occasion spent between 300,000 and 500,000 rupiah, for the sake of a tiny amount of tap water.
The lack of inititiative, in granting a request that would have cost the restaurant absolutely nothing, and which has now resulted in the loss of a regular customer, is truly...
Read morethis place is located inside the mall on the ground floor. it's not too crowded here. even during the weekend, you can still find a seat. they sell chinese food, mainly porridge but they have many more to offer. they're halal certified.
one of my favorites is their three-flavored porridge. they use chicken, fish, and shrimp for the topping. the porridge is quite watery, but the taste is good. you can add soy sauce, and chili sauce to add more flavor into the porridge. make sure you ask them to make it hot. this porridge is much better when served hot.
for the side dishes, i like the fried enoki mushroom, and fried green beans. they're cooked with the same style. the mushroom, and the beans are fried using batter. the batter is not too thick, and very crispy. then they're stir fried using garlic, salt, and green onions. they're salty, crispy,...
Read moreReliable brand, I like coming here for the typical ‘Indonesianized’ Chinese (Tionghoa) food. Simple small dishes; affordable prices. One can order a variety of 3-4 dishes and it would be enough for 2 people. The service is quick and one can finish the meal within 45 mins. Definitely recommended if you are in a mall and want some nice comfort...
