Went to Pical Ayang, a well-known spot in Bukittinggi famous for its Pical. We visited in the morning, and even then, the place was already packed with cars and motorbikes—a clear sign of its popularity. If you're driving, you might need to park a bit further down the street. What surprised me was the variety of West Sumatran breakfast dishes. In Jakarta, West Sumatra is mostly known for its rich and savory Padang food, but here, there were plenty of sweet snacks and desserts like Lupis, Ketan, etc. The highlight for me was the Bubur Kampiun, a sweet porridge that truly lived up to its name—"Kampiun" means Champion, and it was indeed a champion of flavors! It’s a mix of steamed white and black sticky rice, banana compote, temple porridge, mung bean paste, and more. A complex, layered dish that was both filling and delicious. Of course, we also tried their Pical, which was flavorful and fresh, and their Sop Daging, a comforting beef soup that was just as enjoyable. Definitely recommended, but be prepared for crowds—this place is clearly a local favorite!

PICAL AYANG Come to this place on a friend's recommendation to try a variety of culinary delights provided. Even though the place is small, but buyers never stop. Food & beverages that are sold include rice cake, various kinds of porridge, typical Minang egg coffee, various local snacks, etc. Everything is delicious... This shop has been established since 1975 by Mrs. Ayang, who was still a girl at that time. Still in this business, currently Pical Ayang has been continued by her daughter. Good luck ✊🏽🤟🏽👍🏽

Who wants to find breakfast? dock! The menu is very varied, but the specifics here are Pical sayur and Lontong sayur. There are various kinds of side dishes available such as fried foods, traditional cakes, desserts and others. Always busy and will always be a favorite. The service is friendly and responsive. Affordable prices and filling! Easy disability access. toilets available. Can take away. Payment by cash or qris. Best!!
