From Yum to Yuck (and Overpriced!)
Oh boy, talk about a lunch date gone wrong! My wife and I decided to give Jalarasa at The Breeze another shot after a decent dinner experience with my colleagues. Big mistake. Huge.
The Good
Gado-gado started off promising Chili sauce was a taste bud party
The Bad
Gado-gado's surprise guest: a nearly rotten egg. Yikes! Taliwang chicken? More like "tali-wrong." Fishy and definitely not fresh. Price tag that'll make your wallet weep (and for what?). I'm okay if the food was tasty, but not for this quality.
The Ugly
Staff's response to our complaints? A half-hearted "sorry" and... crickets. No offer to make it right. The bill: a painful reminder that we paid premium prices for subpar food
The Verdict
Consistency? Never heard of her. Our first dinner here was a hit, but this lunch? An epic fail of Gordon Ramsay proportions. Jalarasa, you've lost us faster than you can say "fishy chicken." Unless you're into culinary Russian roulette and have money to burn, I'd steer clear. This place is as unpredictable as a weather forecast in April, with prices that'll have you checking your credit card statement twice.
Final score: 2/5 stars - and that's being generous for the peanut sauce and chili sauce's valiant effort. The only thing reasonable here was our decision to...
Read moreJalarasa, an Indonesian cuisine restaurant located in The Breeze BSD, offers a delightful culinary journey through the flavors of Indonesia. My dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional, with each dish leaving a lasting impression.
Starting with the chicken, it was undoubtedly the star of the meal. The combination of sweet sauce, smoky aroma, and umami flavors created a tantalizing sensation that was simply irresistible.
Next up was the kangkung dish, featuring squid, shrimp, and a hint of chili. The flavors blended harmoniously, offering a perfect balance of spice and seafood goodness.
The rawon, a traditional Indonesian beef soup, was another standout. Rich, flavorful, and aromatic, it truly captured the essence of Indonesian cuisine.
Accompanying these dishes was the nasi liwet, which proved to be a perfect complement. The fragrant rice, served with various condiments, enhanced the overall dining experience.
Portions at Jalarasa are generous and perfect for sharing, making it an ideal spot for gathering with friends and family. Overall, Jalarasa offers an outstanding dining experience, showcasing the best of Indonesian flavors in a...
Read moreOverheard kalau Jalarasa ini enak rasanya, jadi mampir cobain. Kalau in the mood for indonesian cuisine, aku bakal kesini sih next time. Oh ya, jangan lupa cek-cek promo mereka deh, suka ada promo metode bayar.
First of all, restoran nya proper ya, cocok buat entertain, makan-makan keluarga, makan-makan sama kolega haha.
Yang aku cobain: cumi goreng jalarasa ; tipikal cumi goreng tepung bumbu cabe garam, rasanya gurih medhok, nagih garing, coating tepung nya ga copot-copot, sampai akhir renyah nya masih dapet (ga alot), dan dimasak pas saja gitu tingkat kematangan cumi nya sendiri.
kepiting soka telur asin ; must try juga! Sausnya banyak, love it.
Kuah nya not too light, not too rich, just nice buat seruput-seruput. Ga sampai enak banget, tapi nice ya!
lidah bakar lado ijo ; buat pecinta lidah sapi, must order this! Isinya 3-4 potong lidah besar-besar, tebal tapi empuk ya. Lado ijo nya ga terlalu nyegrak tajam, just nice.
Gurih simple ga over.
Kalau lemongrass tea nya standard, kurang berkesan.
Bubur kelapa candil ; don't miss it. Gila banget enak hahahaha. Perfect for sharing 3-4 orang, gede banget porsinya. Ini rasanya kayak takjil ramadhan. Berkesan banget, setiap elemen di dalamnya mantap bikin overall dessert ini well executed, berasa tradisional, tapi clean. Citarasa indonesia nya kental dan kompleks banget.
Jalarasa benar-benar recommended.
Serving time termasuk cepat. Staff nya juga sigap. Mereka ada VIP room ya, katanya sih minimum purchase nya lumayan.
Updated Mei 2025 kesini lagi, dan cobain menu-menu lain.
Rawon mereka lumayan enak walaupun cenderung asin haha, kluwek nya medhok.
Iga sapi maranggi that costs us 450rb nett include tax service menurutku ga worth it. Kemahalan 😩🫵🏻 tho it’s good, tapi harganya teramat ga wajar buatku. Porsinya gede bisa untuk share 2-4 orang ya. Bumbunya meresap.
Terong raos nya enak, bumbu nya melimpah.
Kalau mau segar-segar cobain es lychee jeruk bangka mereka request tanpa gula deh. Segar banget mantap!!!
