Sate Khas Senayan, The Breeze — Restaurant in Cisauk

I've been here twice and always order the same food.

I usually get: Sate Ayam Ponorogo Campur (Rp77.000): the peanut sauce is delicious—savory, sweet, thick, and generous. Tasty. If I remember correctly, you'll get about 8–9 skewers per portion, and there's a good amount of chicken thigh. Compared to other Sate Senayan branches, this is my favorite because the peanut sauce tastes better.

Tahu telor (Rp56.000): This is a must-order dish here too. I usually get it with peanut sauce, but I found the taste didn’t really suit me—the peanut sauce wasn't “medok” or “kampung” enough for tahu telor. But if you order it with sweet soy sauce instead, I think it tastes much better.

Rice (Rp18.000): Soft and fluffy, and the portion is pretty generous.

The service here is okay, but they seem a bit understaffed. During lunch hours when it gets crowded, there aren’t many staff around, so some customers have to get up from their seats to call someone over just to place an order. Food also takes a bit of time to come out. The vibe of the restaurant is nice though—clean and fairly spacious.

Overall, it's pretty recommended, but just be prepared for slower service and food if...

The taste of the foods was all great, except that when I took a bite of the deep end of the chicken satay it was still raw! YIKES! The waiter's attitude was bit annoying, kind of rushing when taking order while there were only 2 other tables filled earlier than us, and there were more than 3 other waiters standingby. All I can assume is that maybe he doesn't like his job. Bit pricey as well, we are not big eaters, it costs us more than Rp. 400K for 4 dishes...

Too bad. we ordered nasi liwet and nasi goreng, but everything turned out disappointing. The nasi liwet tasted strange, the spices were overwhelming, and the galangal was way too strong. The nasi goreng wasn’t good either the crackers weren’t crispy at all, and they didn’t even ask if we wanted the egg half-cooked or not. The only dish we actually enjoyed was the chicken satay. I’ll definitely have to reconsider if I ever want to...
