I really don't understand the idea, or concept, of a "Hot" food in Indonesia. Because rarely, for even the hand-made cooking from the restaurant, that is rarely be serving in very HOT temperature. I really have no idea of that because serving the food in HOT manner is the most important Etiquette. (not to mention the hot water in the shower is miserably not hot at all, all over Indonesia). However, this would be top judge for any kind of food that I had in a restaurant. So, as I mentioned this, that mean this ramen restaurant doesn't have HOT enough Ebi Ramen, Ocha tea (hot). I order also the pan-fried dumpling and one tamago (half marinated soft-boiled egg). Aside from the temperature, I think the soup is okay since it tastes of the chicken essence. However, it doesn't have any taste of Ebi (shrimps) in the soups but only a paired of boiled shrimp, supposed they should cook together with the soup, especially the shrimp head, supposed to be grilled and boil to heat together with the soup. For the ramen noddle, I don't know what's wrong the noddle but it definitely doesn't taste a-like to the Japanese ramen noodle. Well, as a resturant in name of Japanese ramen store, this is still very far from the authentic Japanese one. But, as one of the very few and accessible ramen store in Indonesia, or specifically in Medan, I still have this...
Read moreWhen they first open a few years back, i tried and reluctant to go back again because the soup based ramen was literally covered by a layer of chili oil.
Today, i decided to give another try and ordered the non-spicy soup based ramen along with a plate of char siew strips.
Let's start with the char siew strips, presentation is appealing. First bite, oh gosh, so plain and just porky smell. Worst of all, it is not hot and you know it is sitting in the kitchen for sometime, resting and taking in the bloody aircond coldnes. That's a bad start.
Move on to the non-spicy soup based ramen. The soup is tasty, the pork slice is alright and tamago is just ok. But, it is not hot. That's a big No No for a soup based ramen.
Disappointment. Paid my bill and never want to...

You can simply eat it just the way they serve the dish. Delicious. Veryyyy delicious. Note for ladies: they serve Ramen in BIG PORTION. Better empty your belly beforehand or else you'll be too full to try other dishes.
