Great Food and Service, but Ventilation and Parking Concerns at Barbarossa Sanur
Barbarossa Sanur is a restaurant that offers good food, excellent service, and an impressive drink list. While I enjoyed my dining experience overall, there were a couple of notable issues that need to be addressed.
Let's start with the positives. The food at Barbarossa Sanur is undeniably delicious. The menu features a variety of flavorful dishes that cater to different tastes. From appetizers to main courses, the culinary offerings are well-prepared and satisfying. The attentive service provided by the staff was also commendable, as they were friendly, helpful, and ensured that our needs were met throughout the meal. Additionally, the drink list boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic options, allowing guests to find a suitable drink to accompany their meal.
However, one significant drawback of Barbarossa Sanur is the poor ventilation within the restaurant. The smoke from the kitchen tends to flow into the main dining area, causing an unpleasant and uncomfortable dining experience. As a result, the smell of smoke lingers on our clothes even after leaving the establishment. This issue significantly detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal and needs to be addressed to enhance the dining experience for guests.
Furthermore, it is important to note that Barbarossa Sanur lacks parking facilities. This can be inconvenient, as finding parking in the surrounding area can be a challenge, especially during busy hours. It would be beneficial if the restaurant could explore options to provide parking for their customers to alleviate this issue.
In conclusion, Barbarossa Sanur offers good food, excellent service, and an impressive drink list. However, the lack of proper ventilation, which results in the smoke from the kitchen flowing into the main dining room and leaving a lingering smell on clothes, is a significant concern. Additionally, the absence of parking facilities adds to the inconvenience for guests. Addressing these issues would greatly improve the overall dining experience at...
Read moreWe live in Bali and Barbarossa was our place where we would eat once a week or more when we had something to celebrate, because we love the food and service so much.
Today was the first time in my life I left a restaurant because of the service. I came in a little late, because I had to buy sigarettes. My Indonesian wife already told me that the guy (Big guy named Bayu) gave her the most unwelcome feeling ever.
We ordered a starter and some drinks. We were still thinking about the main course. We usually order entrecote and the beef brisket, because its amazing. Bayu comes and litterally throws the cutlery on the table and tells me do you know what you want yet, with a tone that sets you off in a second. This guy clearly doesnt want to be here or had issues with me in his previous life. When he came and threw the starter on our table, not even in front of me, but on the other end of the table. I asked him what is wrong. We have been to barbarossa more than 50 times the last year. His response was 'whats wrong bro' and took a stance like he was about to fight me. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant in 38 years. This guy does not belong in a restaurant. We paid our drinks and starter left to another restaurant. When I asked him his name he said it was Lex, but afterwards the bartender told me it was Dayu. We were used to Lakmi's service. Unfortunately she left.
This Dayu gave me the feeling he was about to punch me in the face. Your other worker, who worked for you last year, apologised many times.
I hope the owner of this restaurant will see this. The food is amazing and the ambience of this restaurant is amazing. The service is usually also the same. But this new employee Bayu is the worst I have ever met. When i asked Bayu for his name it was Alex. Im happy the other staff corrected this. Please let me know when hes gone, and I will happily come to your...
Read moreYesterday my family and I came to Barbarossa in Sanur, in order there was a burger for 150 rupees and it was brought to us on ice bun. We asked for the bread to be grilled up a little and they warmed up a whole burger in the microwave. It became terrible, my husband’s mood is even worse, wet bun and meet which became like a rubber. We told this to staff, no answer. They all left the restaurant hall where we were sitting alone and then the waiter returned 10 minutes later when the food was eaten, and didn't say a word. Little bit later waiter returned with ice cream, which we didn’t need at all, we came for burger. We didn’t receive any apologies until I went to call the manager. Of course, manager didn’t offered excluding the burger from the bill like in any self-respecting establishment. Remake the dish or exclude it from the bill, nothing of this was done. For us it’s not about the money, it’s about the spoiled mood and food. We have been coming to this restaurant for two years, I am completely shocked. Tried to get in touch with owners in instagram, no results. So if you will be in Barbarossa, dont order burger. We, of course, will never come back.
I'll make an update. As you can see, my review received a response from Barbarossa asking me to contact them. I tried it honestly. I left a request on the website, didn't receive any response. I wrote an email, no answer. It's quite funny that even in this part of the service the restaurant failed, no response in two weeks.
Upd number 2. Finally received answer from the owner. Not even one world that they sorry about the situation. So now we now that this is a regular situation for them and they dont care about customers. Thats how they lost us as clients and all our...
