Little Mars — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

We have been meaning to try this place for some time. They have a number of items on the menu that carry their red star for 'most recommended'. Unfortunately, today we finally did. The people are lovely but, when I asked if their beef rendang, one of the highlighted meals, was tender but the waitress couldn't confirm it was. So I went for another highlighted meal, the chicken curry. It was, sadly, not nice at all with a heavy taste of salt. Luckily, my wife had ordered a cap cay that helped a bit. Before I got 25% of the way through it, the waitress asked how it was & I had to tell her. She offered to change it for a 'new' one. Less than a minute later I got another plate with less than half the content I had left & laughed - but it wasn't funny when it wasn't much different to the first one & I left most of it, even though I hadn't eaten since the morning & it was, by then, after 7pm. I won't go into the smoking in such a small space as, Luckily, I stopped eating before the only other people in lit up on the next table. Probably a good thing to be a smoker as it dulls your taste buds. Altogether a big fail, I hope they pay more attention to knowing what's good in future, there's no excuse for them to not know if something is right or not, especially when it's a highlighted special recommendation. Sorry, Little Mars, the kitchen needs someone who can cook... But the worst part was to come a few hours later, the sleepless night running back & forth to the lavatory with a severe stomach upset, until after...

TL;DR: Nice little Warung with really good food.

This Warung is easy to miss as it has no open garden in the front, but only a small black door. In case you prefer it there still is a garden in the back of the restaurant, but with the modern and cool decorations and the air conditioning you probably will want to stay inside anyways. What I also liked was that the girl at the front door was not trying to get us inside with asking stuff like they do in many other restaurants. She was just greeting us while smiling. Then we also got a flyer from her which actually brought us to this nice location on the day after that.

I don't have to say much about the food; It was just great and especially for these prices there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't give it a try. I am sure you won't regret it :)

Amazing - Great Value - Delicious- excellent service. The staff greeted us at the door and were quick and kind with all service. Free welcome drink of Tropical fruits and food came quickly. I asked to adjust my order slightly from menu and staff were agreeable and easily made the change. I got vegetable noodle soup and my partner got one of the combo deals which came with a Tempe appie, mine goreng, and another juice. All in we got 4 juices/ an appie/ and 2 dinners for 11$ Canadian which is fantastic value.

The restaurant filled up as we were there. Only downside was the rude family with children who were all on their phones and blasting children's songs/cartoons in Russian. Thankfully they left promptly after work...
