The only reason that this place isn't full with patrons must be its location: a few hundred metres away from the main eating street. Because the menu, the preparation, the ingredients, the prices and the service are all superior to other Italian restaurants nearby. I just had the Pasta alla Putanesca, which the menu says features "imported Italian bowtie pasta with tomato, capers, anchovies, garlic, olives and chilli" and it does! Its a favourite of mine, which I use as a baseline. The pasta was al dente (a first for my experience in Sanur and most other"Italian" restaurants in Southeast Asia) and the sauce was fish-stinky and salty, as it should be. Zesty and fun to eat! Amin! It was so good I almost cried. So long have I been waiting for such a taste. Since Milano years ago. Far, far better than anything I have eaten in Bali or Jakarta or anywhere else, for that matter.
The tiramisu classic really was classic. Completely different from what is usually served in other places. This is like a homemade recipe. Understated elegance. Delicious.
The young gentlemen who serve the tables are fluent in English (and Indonesian and Balinese and maybe some other languages) and informative and friendly without overdoing it. They're more Italian than Italians :)
And even the live music wasn't deafening but rather modulated and sweet-voiced. How rare is that?
The owner is said to be from Milano. Halus. Refined. It shows in how Rivieria operates.
Jika suka masakan Itali yang otentik harus cicip makanan di sini! Pengunjung campur warga dan bule (semuanya senang sekali tampaknya).
And inside is a pool table...

I donât usually Leave negative reviews as I had a business for many years and understand things can happen sometimes but I see its needed in this case with some feedback and hopefully you take this as constructive criticism. The Restuarant area is too hot and there is no fans on the ceiling or floor fans. Most people were using your menus as fans and you wouldâve seen this as you were in the restuarant! And why I strongly suggest you put a few fans in for customer comfort. The Margherita Pizza we ordered was average as the sauce was dry and tasteless and not authentic at all. The pasta was good. The seats are very hard and uncomfortable and could do with an upgrade or some pillows to soften the hardwood seats. The menâs urinal wasnât working has been off-line for while I believe and a bucket under it for anyone who didnât see the small out of order sign on top of it wasnât stopping people using it as there was Pee on the floor. Staff was nice and friendly but getting their attention at times was a little difficult. I think more focus on customer comfort and customer satisfaction is definitely required at this restaurant. Unfortunately I tried your restaurant for the first time and this is my...
Read moreThis lovely little restaurant was just up the road from our hotel in Sanur and we first went in for a drink, on a whim, and we were greeted by Komang who told us about the free pool table round the back and made us feel so comfortable. We returned the following day to try out the food as we were so impressed by the service and we were not disappointed! The food is second to none, as is the service. Komang remembered our names and seated us and didnât hesitate to clear up and queries we had about the menu. We enjoyed it so much that we returned on our final night in Bali and we were waited on hand and foot by Putu. Putuâs service is top tier, he has an absolutely fantastic standard of customer service and hospitality knowledge. He recommended a brilliant bottle of wine and his knowledge of the Italian tradition and culture is superb! He is an absolute credit to the establishment. This is a lovely little restaurant and comes highly recommended from two very happy...
