I've been twice to Hanoi by MeVui and have had a great experience both times.
There are two seating areas, one at the front overlooking the street, and one more enclosed area behind that with aircon.
The menu is extensive and there are pictures of everything so you know what you're getting before it arrives. All the vegan options are clearly labelled too and all come with either tofu or mushroom or both! Also, it's all women owned which is amazing to see. The beginning of the menu tells the backstory.
The food comes really quickly and is freshly made to order. The bahn mi was brilliant, I went for the smaller of the two options and was FULL! (but my second stomach still had room for ice cream of course!) Lots of veggies and tofu packed in, so you definitely get the best bang for your buck. It think it was about 30,000 Rupiah for the bahn mi, so about the same prices as the warungs around the area. Much cheaper than the hotels along the same strip.
The second time I went I had the hot soup with noodles and about 3 types of mushrooms in there and 2 types of tofu! It was brilliant! So much flavour and texture! I also had the rice paper rolls with tofu and peanut sauce and honestly, those alone would have filled me up, but I was feeling greedy that day! Really delicious food! Highly recommend for when you're out on the beach and want a relatively cheap lunch filled with flavour...
Read more4 weeks ago we visited this restaurant and I would of given it 5 stars, My wife who is vegetarian and allergic to onions requested rice paper rolls will no onion. We were told everything is fresh and freshly made so anything is possible. We returned 5 nights in a row the food was so great. We return today 29th Dec and request the same and told impossible. When we questioned are rice paper rolls not made fresh any more, we are told NO! Everything is pre mixed and can't be changed. When questioned again we were bluntly and rudely told everything has changed since visited 4 weeks ago. So we asked is there anything that is made from fresh so my wife can have any sort of fresh vegetables with no onion. It is Vietnamese Street food after all. We are told definitely not. Every thing is pre mixed and no changes will be made to any dish. So the moral of the review is if you are expecting traditional fresh Vietnamese Street food or have any dietary requests . Steer well clear of...
Read moreWent here 2x.
1st time we tried pho sai gon n pho ha noi. Its nice, topping also generous but not the best pho broth i tried, we tried many pho in VN n HK. We come on lunch time, n not many people.
2nd time we tried com ga, mi viet tiem & chao tom. Chao tom is so good, shrimp sate lilit with the dipping sauce so perfect. Com ga took longer time to cook bcs they need to grill it but its so worthy, rice is so fragrant n chicken rich in flavour. Mi viet tiem a bit different on the way they serve it from the picture on the menu. On the menu soup is serve separately but when it comes its all already mixed in one bowl. Duck is big n tender, you also got a dip sauce for the duck. But since they serve the soup n the duck on the same bowl, my duck get soggy n weird to even dip it again on the sauce. The soup smells strong herbal but the taste is not strong herbal which is really good. On our 2nd visit all the seat is full n people keep coming.
Def will come again but try...
