We joined friends who highly recommended this restaurant/bar for a Saturday evening at The Walk In. We wanted to go there to support them as they are long time generous contributors to a very good charity that the ClubHouse puts on for Casa Vida (a woman’s shelter from domestic abuse). What a great discovery. Our experience proved that they definitely live up to their slogan. “Walk Inn – Walk out happy”. The staff were wonderful, and the owner and his wife greeted us and made us welcome all evening. The venue is a casual outdoor bar/restaurant, frequented by ex-pats and locals alike. Saturday night they feature an excellent live band, who kept the dance floor hopping all evening. The band had a huge repertoire of music and interacted throughout the evening with the guests, making you feel as if you were at a private party. The menu featured Indonesian food, Chinese food and Western fare. I chose the Chinese food and can’t recommend it highly enough. My husband opted for a pizza and he said it was excellent, especially the thin crust which was served up perfectly crisp. This will become a favourite of ours for our winter stay. They feature music throughout the week, so we’ll try some different evenings, but will be sure to go on Saturdays again for the wonderful band/dance experience. P.S. Footnote…before I posted this review, we went back on the next Saturday night and were blown away that before we even got to our table the server welcomed us and remembered the drink we had ordered on our first visit. Can not recommend this “local gem”...
Read moreTerrific and Terrible A group of 18 of us visited here for an evening meal 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately the available staff could not cope with us and the other customers in the warung and the service was abysmal. The staff were friendly and did their very best and all of us recognised their hard work under bad circumstances. Likewise the food was very nice and the drinks were good. The problem was purely with management not rostering enough staff. We started arriving at 5.30pm and the last dish, which was an entre was served at 8.40pm. This was after our friend had eaten her main course!! By the time this was served half the group had left. My wife and I visited 3 weeks later because we liked the food. Unfortunately it took about half an hour to get our food which was only a hot dog and a chicken dish. The food was very nice. The wall fan that was not working 3 weeks ago was still not working. It is a shame, that what could be a great place, is only mediocre due to lack of effort...
Read moreWas turned away from Afterwork restaurant next door an hour before they were due to close. We were walking down wondering where to eat and found this pub. Big menu and very reasonable prices. Cheap Indonesian food too. I ordered Hong Kong style noodles but just tasted like Indonesian Mie goreng to m, enjoyed though. Spring rolls were nice too. Ordered an “Aussie pie”. I’m British so dunno how to feel about it being served on its own. Thought it’d be served with mash as well or something. We don’t eat pies on their own in U.K. Maybe Aussies have a different take 😂🤷♀️. Flavour for the pie weren’t all there either.
Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We’d deffo come again and will try something else though. Might have to ask for a recommendation for next time.
Great place for drinkers esp for...
