Black Sweet is one of the best places to swim on Gili Air, with calm, clear water and a peaceful stretch of beach right out front. The guys who run it are super laid-back and friendly, and always up for a good chat — it really adds to the relaxed vibe.
The menu is simple and no-frills, but the meals are reasonably priced and satisfying enough after a swim.
We also booked a private snorkeling trip with them, which included a GoPro photographer, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip. It was far more affordable than other operators we spoke to, and the experience felt personal and unrushed.

The food is very reasonably priced and delicious. I highly recommend trying a few of their many local dishes (google what some of the menu items are, and you’ll discover a new favorite dish!).
To top it off, the staff are kind and pleasant, and the vibe is super relaxed. The 80s power ballads playing while you dine give a sense of quirkiness to make the experience even more memorable.
You should absolutely put this on your list of places to try...
