First of all food is very tasty and the atmosphere is great. The waiters are also super friendly. Sadly it is the first place I've been to where the waiters and bar crew work together to have a share of your drink. We ordered Bailey's and Whisky on rocks. We noticed that when the waiter was bringing the drinks to our table he stopped on his way and put aside one glass with something looking like whisky. When our whisky was served it was with ice on the side so I noticed that the drink was very small. After serving us the drinks we saw the waiter taking the glass he had put away on his way to our table and going to the left side of the bar. Within a few seconds he was back with a empty glass. When we were paying to the girl at the cash register placed in the bar we informed her about what happened to our drink. She just said sorry. On the entrance side we saw a gentleman that looked like the manager and informed him about what happened. He was very apologetic, and he said when you come back next time I’ll give you a free drink. We would never go back to such a place and spend more money for a free drink. The next days we dined at Salabose”s, where the food and...
Read moreWe booked in advance as we walked past many times and thought the atmosphere was good. Unfortunately, it was all smoke and mirrors. The food took well over an hour to arrive and when it had arrived it was all cold, overdone and disappointing. Whilst we were waiting for over an hour, no staff approached us to communicate the delay in food. It seemed the management team were more interested in serving people who had ordered more expensive meals. I.e lobster. There was a general feeling of lack of organisation between staff and customers throughout our time there. When we communicated our long wait time, no consideration to our inconvenience was expressed, with the manager making an excuse that they were busy and not offering any explanation. We asked to take the service charge off when paying our bill, as we felt it was not up to standard. This is very unlike us, as usually we would tip! The manager dismissed our query and said this was not possible, which was extremely rude. Unfortunately, we would not reccomend this restaurant as there are many others on the island with better service and food, ensuring your dining experience...
Read morePapaya Beach Club is truly one of the best places on Gili Air to enjoy a day at the beach and an unforgettable dinner❤️ From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the design of the place. A perfect combination of cozy bamboo furniture, warm lighting, and a relaxed beachfront atmosphere.🥰. The view is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset when the sky turns shades of orange, pink, and purple. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help and making the dining experience feel enjoyable.🫶🏻 My favorite highlight was their Lobster BBQ , truly the star of the show. Perfectly grilled, juicy, and full of flavor, served with just the right sides to make the dinner even more special. The atmosphere becomes even more magical in the evening, with great music, a relaxed vibe, and a perfect location right on the beach. Overall, Papaya Beach Club is a must-visit spot for a memorable sunset dinner on Gili Air. The combination of its location, service, and food quality makes me want to come back again. Highly...
