Asap Sambal 'Sei Sapi' - Tanjung Duren — Restaurant in Jakarta

So, this is my first time tasting it. And I got some impressions. +) the place is easy to find +) the waitress is friendly +) the price is affordable +) the only thing I like to taste is Se'i Lidah Sapi. It has soft texture.

However, -) I personally wasn't that impressed by the taste. It's way far from my expectation. The taste is just average. The smokey taste is so dominant that makes almost all dishes taste just the same. -) some pieces of the beef was still hard to chew. I expected the beef was soft and delicate, but it wasn't. -) no wash basin in the restaurant

This one is fatal, -) They misread the menu I ordered. I ordered Se'i AYAM Platter for my husband (who can't eat beef), but the dish they served was Se'i SAPI TASTY Platter. My husband ate it, but he spit it out again. He tried to chew it but he couldn't because it is beef. Eventually, my husband couldn't finish his meal. But fortunately, the cashier apologized and we paid for se'i ayam platter.

So, if you ask me will I recommend it? I'm so sorry, I don't...

kinda okay i think, the smokiness however not very present and the vegetable (casava's leaves) kinda too milky(?) idk what they use maybe coconut milk? but its too heavy for me. but the rice, are so much, i think i can like buy one for two people. bought the lu'at regular tasty beef. the luat, idk, i never had a original lu'at before but this lu'at have tomatoes in it, in contrary to my experience at bandung's lamalera's lu'at. but idk, it's pretty good tho, not overly spicy and sour (as i have gerd) the price kinda okay too. so yeah an okay experience. oh no parking spot (max 2 cars) but plenty spot for motorcycle...

Langsung pesen yang menu Platter Daging ( 3 daging + 1 sayur ) harga 85k belum termasuk nasi dan minum

Untuk pilihan dagingnya ambil yang rasa sambal matah, rica rica dan black pepper

Dagingnya semua sama hanya sambal olahannya yang berbeda. Daging di iris tipis seperti yoshinoya, lemaknya tidak terlalu banyak, tidak alot dan cukup banyak porsi nya

Untuk bumbu semua sudah jadi, tinggal di masak dengan daging yang sepertinya sudah setengah matang

Sambal matah : pedasnya pas, untuk yang doyan pedas mungkin ini belum terlalu pedas tapi ini sudah cukup pedasnya. Rasa bawang terasa pas dan segar

Rica rica : dibuat pedas manis tapi masih terasa seperti rica rica. lumayan enak

Black pepper : paling enak yang ini buat saya. lada pas di lidah tidak pedas di tenggorokan

Sayur : Sayurnya cukup enak tetapi porsi kurang banyak karena platter itu bisa untuk 4 orang dan ini paling hanya untuk 2 orang ( bisa nambah lagi sayur tapi dikenakan biaya )

Ada minuman badak yang jadi pasangan menu2 sei ini. Cocok kl lagi panas atau kepedesan saat makan

Sayangnya tempat parkir susah, hanya muat 1 mobil dan sisanya parkir di pinggir. Ruangan terbuka dengan kipas jadi kl ada yg smoking atau datang saat makan siang mungkin kurang nyaman

Skor 8/10 akan balik lagi karena harga ramah...
