I wish to feedback your temple SOP. I went in this morning. A caretaker was cleaning the place. I asked for candle and inquired which type. By accident, i read kotak dana for the incense and assumed same for candle lighting. The caretaker should have highlighted that it's cash buy (which she did not). After I paid and about to leave, she quickly scrambled up and asked if I did light the candle. I am sure she saw me lighting it, and gave a face as if 'i cant read'. Yes indeed, i cant because Im not Indonesian. She said next time, please ask. Actually i did asked but she just did not relay full information as is typical in the culture. In any case, I went and changed money. I treated the 50,000 Rup as Dana in your box. The other 50,000 Rup i changed I paid her since she rambled on about how she will get into trouble from 'management'. I do not like her attitude. Who is in charge of the kotak dana anyways? Who is there to guarantee kotak dana cant be opened by anyone? Neither do I like your SOP. Why is incense treated as dana into the box but candles are not ? Confusing. Would someone light candle and refuse to pay ? Just use 1 system. Your temple is beautiful but sadly i had a brief annoyance. I too am a Tibetan buddhist. There will be other temples of peace for me to attend to. I am not sure i wish to return given the front desk attitude 🙄😒🙄😒

This 1 star rating is for the lack of courtesy and confusing SOPs. It is not for the temple per se. Very rude front desk lady that has no couth and mannerisms is like a DOG (ohm); only knows how to scream, raises voice and shrieks like an animal. Im dissapointed at how uncouth temple caretakers can be and how poorly trained she is and despite being a temple caretaker has not cultivated any Dharma. PS she is lokal but I assumed certainly NOT Buddhist. How ironic, in Buddhism we talk about internal and external obstacles arising to promoting Dharma. With such a hell hound at the door, i can only imagine how many Dharma seekers will be turned off. I am fortunate enough to already have a Tibetan Guru. For other spiritual seekers meeting similar fate and not having the courage to step-up, i can only say Om Mani Pedme Hum and may all hell hound obstacles be removed. Permanently. Sometimes in order to grow we need wrathful compassion. Dont mistake this for anger. Animals and humans are at different levels of compassion and comprehension. Furthemore, front desk attendants even at temples is also a service line. Learn to smile and greet newcomers. Isnt that why the temple attendant chose this job? Unless she has had a history of 'offence' at other work places, hence this was a window of refuge so to speak. The world owes her nothing and neither do I. My respect is to 3 jewels alone. Today i have to exercise wrathful compassion to overcome this morning test on a human being with wild animal characteristics. Yet, I am not the least flusteted. Why would I? The 3 jewels stands behind me. No, she didnt just insulted me, by insulting me as a practitioner (all the while being calm) she has also insulted my Gurus and the Gurus before him and my lineage. Being a Buddhist does not mean I cant fight back, in a debate manner. I pity her lack of Dharma and how little she has absorbed there. This, is perhaps the best place to practice selflessness. Your deities are a mixture of tahagatas and Tibetan Zambala with a splash of Mahayana. What happened to being in-service? In Tibet, we have to carry milk teas (gur cha) daily to serve the entire community and our Gurus. A front desk job acting like a dictator and yet claiming righteousneouss when she is clearly not 100% right. Shame. I hope this long post (by far the longest I have written in reviews) reaches all the ears and eyes of this Dharma center so that the real essence and practices of the Sangha (and how we behave and act) can become more selfless and less animalistic. If we cant even control the front desk emotions and mannerisms, I suggest do not bother to open the temple doors. Yes, this would be my wrathful compassion...
