After spending the whole morning at our church, it's lunch time. We usually went to our regular noodle joint in Puri Kembangan area, but that day we were not in the mood for some noodles. So after a quick call to our friend who's a local resident of Puri area, he pointed us to this place, to eat some Bakso Medan. So off to Bakso Aan we went.

The food is very good. It was on par with the best of the best Bakso Medan in the whole Jakarta. No kidding.

The signature boiled silken tenderloin is text book execution. The meatballs are no slouch either, meaty taste with a slightly chewy texture and a bite snap to die for. The boiled innards are clean tasting without any smells or weird taste.

If we are being picky, the kuay teow was overcooked. And that's about it 😅. Everything else was just good 👍🏻.

Oh yeah, on a side note, their prices are quite reasonable compared to their competitors. My wife usually stays clear from Bakso Medan joints due to the throat slitting prices, but this place seems to get her approval 😅👏🏻.

So will we be back for...

Hearty meatballs with options of three different kinds of noodles: the regular, kwetiau, and beehon. It's the kind of meal you would desire when you're feeling fluey. It is a little counterintuitive to enjoy such a steamy dish for lunch time when Jakarta's sun is blazing, but somehow it still feels so right. My only reason for not giving a five stars is that they should improve their cleanliness. I usually don't really make it as a big deal as long as the food is good. But I can imagine that it can be off putting for some to go to the toilet while passing a big bowl of meat sitting in front of the...

Definitely not your typical bakso (meatball) place. Taste wise and portion wise, it’s magical.

However the price keep increasing significantly through the year and the place doesn’t seem to be upgraded (it’s toilet is kinda unsanitary sometimes)

I do recommend this for first timers, but it’s hard to be a repeat customer with it’s current price point.

I don’t eat innards so usually 2 bowls of vermicelli noodle and meat would cost IDR 110k...
