Well I'm not exactly a Suki or Shabu-shabu dish lover, although I ate them from time to time going to many places like Shaburi, X.O Suki, Hanamasa and even Kahyangan.
However after going pass through it so many times, me and my wife decided to try Tako Suki for the first time about a week ago.
We already know that this place did not offer AYCE or all you can eat dining. So we expect to spend a hefty sum of money.
First impression the parking space is horrible and it often cause quite a bit of traffic jam. But once inside the decor is actually pretty good. The ambiance os also cozy and comfortable with a lot of sofa.
Now the menu. They have standard Chinese food and Japanese food like fried rice, veggies, chicken and some sushi, sashimi and Udon. However we want to try the Suki dishes.
The suki dishes has 4 plate color with different prices. So we order 2 sirloins, 4 types of wontons, 2 types of siomay, 4 plates of mix veggies, 2 plates of tofu, 3 rice and 3 bottled water.
They have 2 types of broths, Tom Yum and chicken stock. We order half-half. It turns out I love the Tom Yum broth amd wifey loves the chicken stock one.
Taste is okay comparable to X.O Suki. However their wontons are to die for! It is so good! Plus you have to mix their "cara 2" sauce printed on your table napkin. The sauce is salty and tangy with garlic. And when you put the cooked wonton to it and then eat it... Wow.. No words for it.
Our total bill was about 340rb. It is worth the price for sure. We are going to visit this place back soon. This place with its sauce really changed me! I am a Sukiyaki fans now.
4 stars only because of the parking spot. For taste and quality I give...
Read moreIt's nice and good restaurant if you compare to others chinese food. They come with affordable price but not sacrificing the taste. They have promo for dimsum menu, so if you aim for some affordable yum cha you can choose this place. They also offered suki menu for those of you who opt for something different. They have a special sauce with dried shrimp, it taste nice if you mix it with chopped scallion and garlic flakes, i also love their chili oil, it just taste right without too oily or too spicy, good for their chicken broth. This not a high end chinese restaurant, more family one in my opinion, so don't expect premium dishes. Even though they are always crowded, their server not neglecting us, they come and go to deliver the menu and quickly provided what we need. Overall, this place is a good one to come again especially with family. Their menu is halal and some are kids friendly, nice one of you come with...
Read moreWent here for lunch with my dad.. As he is a bargain hunter, when he sees the discount sign, in we went. We had the Dimsum; Chuka Kurage Take (Jellyfish - This was super fishy), Hakau, Siomay, Chicken Feet (too sweet for my taste), Fried Shrimp dumpling (and it doesn't come with a mayo dip) And Mixed Buns (Durian, Taro/ Talas, Salted Egg).
Granted my dad is very critical when it comes to food, especially Chinese food!! But this is basing on value over money..
Overall verdict: Not too bad.. Would i wanna come back again? I don't see that happening in the near future..
Taste: 2.75 Price:...
