A cool place with amazing chicken nanban rice bowl. It’s quite hidden from the main road as you need to walk inside into the building before you see the place on the left side.
Their OG Chicken Nanban bowl (43k) have been consistently good so far and quite flavourful. The chicken is crispy, the sauce has a balanced sweet and sour taste and the portion of chicken is quite generous. I’m quite glad they have kept the quality over time. The ocha (7k) however was strange as it felt very much watered down and I cannot even taste the tea flavour.
They have other menu items such as the Triple Sauce Roast Beef (60k) which I’ve tried on a different occasion and was also really nice. There is not much variety in their menu and they have kept it so all these years.
The place itself is quite small, about 5 tables seating 2-3 persons each. Fortunately I came where it was not so busy. It has this red lighting that resembles more like a bar rather than a Japanese fast food joint so it kinda feels dark instead. Otherwise, it took less than 10 minutes from order to the food...

I tried Bansan for the first time almost 8 years ago when they were still in the original outlet. I can safely say that what I ate now has remained as good as it was back in the days. My usual go-to would be the OG Chicken Nanban with its rich salty and tender chicken topped with a mixture of sour and sweet tartar sauce.
Another recommended item on the menu would be this sort of sausage on a stick covered with fried eggs. I forgot exactly what it was, but you can hopefully still find it being offered on the standing menus on the tables. I cannot exactly describe the flavor notes but it tasted amazing. So amazing in fact that one time I wanted to re-order but they ran out of stock.

Read moreIt’s a popular rice bowl around the area. The location is in the same building as Makaroni Mantan. The portion is big, and the taste is okay. I tried two menus based on their recommendation. They were the OG Chicken Nanban and Triple Sauce Roast Beef. The OG Chicken was average in taste, but the Triple Sauce Roast Beef was incredibly tasty! The drinks are standard with a fair price. The place is small, and I think it can only fit up to 15 people at the same time. The service is quick and they manage to maintain the cleanliness. The variant menu is limited. If you’re looking for a place to eat and go with no complicated options for food, this place is highly...
