Boogie Doggie Pet Cafe — Restaurant in Jakarta

Boogie Doggie Cafe is a dog cafe at Gading Walk, Mal Kelapa Gading. They have for about 30 dogs from many breed, such as Golden Retriever (the one that they have is a champion dog, but when we were here, the dog went overseas for a competition), Samoyed, Alaskan Malamute, Beagle, Yorkshire Terrier, Pug, French Bulldog, Pomeranian, Cihuahua, and many more. We cannot bring our own dog inside the cafe. I think it is because the cafe does not want to take a risk and as a prevention from dogs' fighting to each other. The dogs are so cute and well-maintained. The cafe is clean.

As a dog person, I have a sad perspective towards a dog cafe where the tired and sleepy dogs are forced to keep active, accompany the customers to take picture together all day. I often see kids holding the dog not in an appropriate way. To be honest, It is a sad condition. I just hope that the dog cafe management has wiser consideration and care about this.

Well, let's talk more about this cafe and food. We came here on a public holiday. We need to purcharse food in minimal amount IDR 70,000 per person, so that we will have 2 hours time to play with the dogs.

Here are what we tried :

Smokey Party Pancake (IDR 78,000) Sweet and soft pancake which is decorated as a dog's head. The pancake is filled with beef ham, cheese, vegetables, along with the sauce.

Grilled Chicken Steak (IDR 72,000) Grilled and tender chicken steak served with the barbecue sauce, sauteed vegetables with garlic, along with french fries. The first dog cafe I have ever visited. Just stumbled upon it when exploring Mall Kelapa Gading.

The place is quite hidden, so you have to search for it. If you are from MKG 1 or somewhere near Breadtalk, you can go through a glass door near there, then follow the path until you see somekind of fountain I think or a place where water shoots up like a fountain. If you go straight you will find a door to the next mall building but there is an opposite road you can go to that leads to the cafe.

There are many kind of dog breeds there from small to big ones. There are several rules that the employees will first tell you before you come inside the cafe. One thing for sure, you must take of your shoes. Sometimes the dogs gets a little wild if you have dog foods that you can buy for 11k.

The food and drink are good. But I think it's not a place where you can eat big dinner because sometimes the dog will lean up the table and...

I felt disappointed when I went there because the dogs there looked hungry, there we could give them food for 12 thousand, I thought they give us snak for dog , They are so hungry that the little dog food makes them very noisy, I also saw some workers there forcing the dogs there to do things to please the visitors. When I want a photo with the dogs, I don't expect an employee to say "work work" to the dogs and force a husky to take the photo. I suggest making a new rule where visitors do not carry dogs but only hold them. I also saw dogs scraping tissue trash from the trash cans because they were too hungry. For food a little bit expensive but taste good .
