Ok, I don't usually correlate Tanah Abang area with good food and hang out place, but once in a while my perception could be wrong. Take this place for instance, it feels like a magical phoenix reborn in the midst of a food court in the middle of an area increasingly dominated by offices, full with good food and cool place to chill both day and night.
Like its signature name, the place serves chicken. I tried their fried chicken and I gotta say the variety doesn't dissapoint. They have honey glazed, gochujang, garlic, and many more. I gotta say I'm smitten with their hot mala fried chicken, it is fully aromatic but the spiciness isn't overboard so it allows me to immensely enjoy it.
The wings are also very fun to eat. Fully flavored like its fried chicken sibling, the wings taste way better than those of Hooters or Kyochon and at a very competitive price. This could be the perfect snack for a cold rainy day outside.
They also have good ol' Indonesian soulfood like nasi goreng and bakmi. I tried their nasi goreng kecombrang, and that's gonna be the only nasi goreng for me from this day forth!! In all honesty, this is the last place I expect to find a very good nasi goreng, and yet I found it at a very affordable price too. Their pasta and salad are also good.
Lastly, desserts. What??? Seriously? Ladies and gents, I strongly recommend their fried ice cream and mango sticky rice. They're out of this world and the portion is good for sharing, all while friendly to the wallet.
Ambiance is great. The joint is out of this world with tree deck and very instagrammable entrance. Service is fast and very courteous.
In short: good food, great place and cheap!! I don't know how they do it but I'll take full advantage of it as...
Read moreHmm this place is pretty strategic. It only took me 10 minutes of walking from Museum Nasional.
I had something to do here, so I ordered a Chicken Skin Chili Pepper. It is a Sambal Matah sauce. It is spicy and has lots of umami. The skin itself is crunchy and pairs well with the sauce.
After doing my business, I finally ordered the real deal. I ordered a garlic blast chicken wings. It comes with iced tea and french fries. The chicken isn't really garlicky at the meat, but yeah it is crunchy and garlicky on the outside thanks to the sauteed garlic. The fries were good. Crunchy yet soft.
Then I ordered cajun chicken steak. The sauce feels and taste like bolognese sauce although it isn't as sour as the usual. Pairs pretty well with the chicken (a bit dry but still enjoyable). Wedges are soft and enjoyable though it is unseasoned.
For desert, I ordered a fried vanilla ice cream and holy lord it feels like a main course. The coating is pretty thick and they also add a slice of bread. Recommended but please keep in mind that it is massive.
Overall.. I am pretty ok with the food. The envionment resembles...
Read moreWhile waiting for doctor in a clinic in this area, we were looking for a place to have lunch after consulting with the doctor done. After reading some recommendations we choce Chicken Embassy at the very first place. And we made the best choice ever! The place is cozy! The interior is combination between nature (plant) and open space so someone like me who dont smoke and dont like smoking will not get disturbed by those who smoke. And the food? Trust me, they surely serve you the best taste! I truly recommend you to come here! You...
