You can find colonial tombstone/memorial dated from 1700s up until 1960s here as some of the corpses were already relocated to somewhere else. Most of them are the Dutch, but there are some American, British, and Chinese-Indonesian too. Some are really well-kept but expect to see many deteriorating sculpture/tombstones. Near the entrance they display the caskets of Bung Karno and Bung Hatta. Sadly they don't put information or story even on the prominent person's tombstone so if you don't understand Dutch at all it will be quite disappointing. It is quiet here but during midday the heat might be really intense and near the closing hour the mosquitoes will start to upset you. It is still a nice place if you want to escape from the city and admire the work of...

this place is actually really nice, it looks clean too (the dry leaves are regularly swept). the entrance fee is affordable (IDR 5k or 10k only, sorry i forgot)

sadly there is not much information about the place on the inside. i believe it has great stories and historical value, but without any information it just becomes an "aesthetic" place for photos. there's an information board on the outside but it's not convenient to go in and out just to know the info. they provide tour guides but there were only one and he's occupied so we can't join a tour. they provide a brochure in the entrance but again, no information. just pictures and a map. 😞

i didn't take much pics on my phone because i was using my analog camera, sorry i can't...

Graveyard dating from Dutch colonial times which is now called a museum. There are some impressive memorials/monuments but sadly none of the graves have any information beyond the usual gravestones so it was hard to know which graves belonged to the important people buried here.

The only part with information was two coffins commemorating the first president and vice-president of Indonesia but as the text there says, these are only symbolic coffins and the actual tombs are located elsewhere.

With a ticket price of 50,000 for international tourists, I expected a lot more in terms of information about the people buried in this cemetery. It is also infested with mosquitoes, so make sure you spray up...

A cemetery from the times of Dutch colonization of Indonesia turned into a museum. The unique tombstones are preserved and well-kept. The entrance ticket only costs Rp 5,000 per person. Parking for cars is not available but there's plenty of space on the sides of the streets leading to the museum. For cat lovers, you can find plenty of cats so don't forget to bring some cat food (the keepers there also take care of the cats btw). A great place to learn a little bit of history and appreciate the craftsmanship of these tombstones.

Taman Prasasti Museum was Public cemetery called Kebon Jahe Kober, built at 1795 in order to replace the cemetery Niew Hollandsche Kerk (now is Wayang Museum). The cemetery was inagurated as Taman Prasasti Museum (Memorial Stone Park) at July 9, 1977. The museum exhibits 862 collections such as the headstones of A.V. Michiels, J.H.R. Kohler, A.J.W. Van Delden, Soe Hok Gie, Olivia Marianne Raffles, Marius Hulswit and also the coffin of Indonesian first President and Vice President; Ir. Soekarno and Moh Hatta.
