海底捞火锅 Haidilao Hot Pot @Mall of Indonesia — Restaurant in Jakarta

This is the fifth branch of Haidilao Hot Pot (海底捞火锅) in Indonesia. Haidilao is the largest hotpot chain originally from Mainland China. The restaurant has a large space. It is divided by two areas. The front is for the waiting list where we could enjoy the free snacks, drinks, and ice cream for free while waiting. And inside is the restaurant where we could dine in.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we will feel safe to dine in here as they follow the health protocols, the servers are wearing mask and face shield, they provide a tab in every desk, so we order the foods by using it. They provide a transparent plastic to put our face mask. If you have a long hair, they will give a hair band. If you wear glasses, they will also give you wet tissue to wipe the glasses. Each customer will be given an apron to wear while enjoying the hotpot.

Haidilao provides variant of soup (if you like spicy, do try Szechuan Mala as their signature. Mix it with three combinations soup. The taste is the combination of spicy and savoury.), toppings such as variant of pork, beef, chicken, lamb, seafood, duck, meatball, bean curd, mushroom, vegetables, noodle, and many more. This is a self cook hotpot, so the the foods that we order will come as a raw ingredients. We could make our own customize sauce. They also provide some kind of sauce recipes that we could follow. As the opening, they will provide complementary fruits, and for the dessert, we could get the complementary ice and fresh dessert.

Above could be a good example to make hotpot for two persons. It is enough for us. The price is high, but so far this is the best hotpot that I've ever tried with the...

As I came here on Wednesday, it was not really crowded. We went directly to our table without queueing, therefore, I can't talk much about the (famous) waiting room.

Generally speaking, the food was really great but I won't put "excellent" level on it (but it still deserve an appreciation tho). They have several soup choices, but my favourite is the "Three Combination soup". I also tried the "Szechuan Mala soup" (which was worth-a-try and great, but the spiciness might not suitable to our Indonesian-tongue) and "Tom Yum soup" (good, but nothing special). For the food, you should definitely try the shrimp paste. The other choices is just like a typical hot pot food choices, but overall it was fresh, great, and appetizing.

The best thing about this restaurant is their service. I would say it was SUPERB. They always offer everything that we need even before we asked them. They will also offer condiments and appetizers throughout the time. Their kindness and effort successfully made a comfortable atmosphere which is very rare to find anywhere else. Definitely a five-star service.

For the price, it's not cheap but I would say that it's quite fair. With the excellent service and experience, great food, and all extra condiment, it's all worth it. It may not be your weekly or monthly choice of restaurant, but it's a perfect choice on special occasions, such as birthday and date. Will definitely come...
