GOOD FRIEND STEAK & SHABU-SHABU — Restaurant in Jakarta

Let me start by saying that the place was small but comfortable and you can definately tell that the owner are well liked by the customers. But I am here for the food. Here is my objective review on the food. The steak priced rather high and with the quality of what you are getting, I think there are plenty better options out there. We ordered 200g sirloin steak medium well but I think it was well done by the time it reached our table. We also tried chicken breaded steak and was expecting at least juicy chicken from such a simple meal. But no. It was just like chicken katsu on fast food japanese style chain store. I think even katsu sold at Japanese supermarket is better at this point. The sauce we tried for the steak was mushroom and butter. The mushroom sauce was so so but the butter sauce was okay. I would recommend to choose the butter sauce should you decided to try. I saw lots of customers was eating their shabu shabu. Perhaps this place is more suited to eat shabu shabu. If I ever come back I'll be sure not ordering the steak but trying shabu...

I recently had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. Halfway through our meal, we were abruptly asked to move because they claimed the table was reserved—while we were still eating! To make matters worse, our drinks arrived incredibly late, despite having to remind the staff. When they finally came over, they even had the audacity to ask what we had ordered again!

The food itself was mediocre at best and far too expensive for what was served. Additionally, the restaurant’s layout was terrible—definitely not baby-friendly. They placed the shabu-shabu devices in such inconvenient spots that it made using a baby chair nearly impossible. All in all, it was an overpriced, chaotic experience that I won’t...
