Best pork dishes in town! I was shocked how good the Cuban Sandwich to begin with! As more food coming to fill the table, Pork Sambal Matah is a must as well, their crackling pork belly was done with exceptional technique keeping an excellent crackling crispy texture on its skin while the meat is still juicy and fatty on the inside. The spicy level of Sambal Matah was as expected just like original Balinese one, very spicy and fragrant. Bottom line, all pork dishes i tried here exceptional from Cuban Sandwich, Monte Cristo, Caesar Salad with Pork Bacon, and Pork Sambal Matah.
We also ordered wagyu striploin and vouched by my siblings who are both avid meat lover, the meat was perfectly cooked as requested medium rare, served with mustard and sea salt to enrich the overall taste. Truly recommend their mushroom as the side dish to the steak as well, so good together.
Coffee also came with many variety. Long black and choco chip cookie perfect bittersweet taste. As for iced drink, really recommend their ginger ale as it is not canned one, very refreshing.
Don’t forget to make room for dessert as their black sesame and cheese cake out of this world! Love the black sesame cake so much.
All their menu stands out so well, perfectly cooked, baked, and brewed. On top of that, all the waiter served with very excellent service and knowledge of all menu. Love the vibe as well, not very crowded to have a nice conversation, seating arrangement are in nice distances to other patrons, decor is quiet nice too. 10/10 would come back all the way across town for black sesame cake and cuban sandwich!
Nice one GDK!...
Read moreThis place is a legendary staple to many in Kelapa Gading area and vicinity. At first, it shared space with a coffee place across Mal Kelapa Gading. Legend was made as the place drew humongous casual trendy crowds and created traffic jams. I imagined a silent cheer from many food enthusiasts as Green Door Kitchen almost single handedly proven there is a market for wholesome to gourmet Western frieds and premium meats in the area. Not a light feat considering Kelapa Gading's long established reputation as Asian/Indonesian hawker/sea food central.
Then, months passed and I went back to the old place, not realizing this new one has opened and noticed distinct dip in the food quality. Although seemingly same menu, the frieds no longer worth the calories as they were soggy. The ultimate burger was not as juicy as it used to either.
Thankfully a friend's post on Facebook solved the mystery, Green Door Kitchen has occupied a much more deserving bigger well designed space, infusing cool into the previously sad mixed use complex that is Mahaka Square. "Nothing brings people together like good food" is stated right atop the chef's windows. Well, indeed.

Most of what we ordered tasted delicious like the Striploin Wagyu which came in slices and priced around Rp. 950k
The Asian salad was also good, feels fresh with a mixture of sweet and sour sauce. Priced at Rp. 90k
The side dishes are ordinary - Sweet Potato Fries and Mushroom. Cake is okay - not too sweet but also not top notch.
It was my friend’s birthday but unfortunately they didn’t sell wine by glass or any cocktail.
Lots of pork menu so if you are bothered with that, this is not a place for you.
Priced is pretty expensive like in a fancy restaurant or hotel especially for steak - the cheapest was the Striploin Wagyu at Rp. 950k and most expensive is Dry Aged which you need to book a few days before (starts at Rp. 2,5 mio). I mean for that price I prefer dining in a high end restaurant where I can also get the “ambience” and high end service.
Plenty of parking space - all...
