HiGeorge! PIK — Restaurant in Jakarta

Had a delightful experience at HiGeorge! in PIK. The flavors they offer are vibrant and bold, and overall, I enjoyed the variety of dishes I tried.

Starting with the salmon dish, the tangy and spicy punch was unexpected but worked well with the freshness of the fish. It brought a satisfying heat that might catch you off guard if you’re not prepared for the spice, but I personally liked the burst of flavor. The fried rice was another highlight — well-seasoned, with a comforting, homestyle feel, especially with the perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg on top. Every bite was packed with the right amount of texture and taste, making it a go-to dish.

However, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the noodle dish. The texture of the noodles was a bit too soft, resembling instant noodles rather than something more substantial. If they had a firmer bite, it could elevate the dish to something more remarkable. The broth and seasoning were excellent, though, so I’d still recommend it if you’re not too picky about noodle texture. The pork belly in the noodle dish was also slightly disappointing. While I was hoping for something either crispy or tender and melt-in-your-mouth, it ended up somewhere in between, leaving it tough and chewy. That said, the flavor was still there, which kept me enjoying the overall dish.

All in all, the dining experience was a good one. The service was prompt, and the ambiance was casual and comfortable. While a couple of dishes missed the mark in terms of texture, the unique and bold flavors made up for it. Definitely worth trying if you’re...

Finally got the chance to try HiGeorge! with relatives. We got there at 5PM and fortunately there just in time ~ there was a queue after we got seated.

Ordered their signature "TomYum Noodle with Pork Belly - Lv.0" and a couple of other menu such as : Khao Soi Noodle with Chicken - Lv.0, George Chicken with Rice, Taro Fritter, and Crab Rangoon.

• Tom Yum Noodle with Pork Belly M - Lv.0 Pork Belly was moist & tasty. Meatball was yum. Noodle was well-cooked, still a little bite to it, not over-cooked. Soup was definitely eye-popping, perhaps more sour than most Tom Yums I've tasted so far. It was overall a good dish.

• Khao Soi Noodle with Chicken - Lv.0 Unlike Tom Yum Noodle, this one came with a creamy soup & a generous amount of crispy noodles on top. Chicken was tasty and moist, very well done. And they use a thicker noodle than the one used in their Tom Yum soup.

• George Chicken with Rice. I must say that this was the safest menu on the table. White rice with the same chicken as the one in Khao Soi, with one crispy omelet.

• Taro Fritter. Great crunch. The shredded taro was not soggy or glumpy at all.

• Crab Rangoon. Very generous crabstick filling. I personally love the crispy dumpling wrapper, but not a fan of the herbs.

Overall, it was a great meal. The place was bright and clean. Service was quick. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My only single request, if I may, is... perhaps the place can spare more time on food prep & clean and devein the...

I have experienced a few bad restaurant service but yesterday i experienced the WORST EXPERIENCE disini. I have been so excited to try this place. Pas kita datang tempatnya full but we decided to wait the queue. Suddenly, ada table untuk 4 org tapi kita berlima & waitressnya tanya kt mau tunggu table yang lebih gede yang kelihatannya orgnya udh mau selesai(tempat duduknya 6) atau ambil table ber 4nya sekarang. n kt jawab Gapapa kt tunggu table bee 6 aja. Jadinya meja ber 4 itu di oper ke 2 org yg antri diblkng kita. BUT right after those 2 person did their orders on the machine, table bee 6 itu kosong & kita lagi tunggu waitress to send us to the table but INSTEAD malahan 2 org itu SIT AT OUR TABLE THAT WE WAITED FOR. first of all.. 2 person on a 6 person table??? then me and my friends directly told the waitress that it is OUR TABLE that we waited for. and the waitress simply just said "kan tadi saya sudah tanya kakaknya mau tunggu table yang buat ber 6 ga kak terus kakaknya bolehin mreka masuk duluan" BUT WHAT I DONT GET IS THEY ARE TAKING OUR TABLE (which is the table of 6) AND NOT THE TABLE THAT IS MENTIONED BEFORE (which is the table of 4 people) and the waitress only replied us that he is "GAENAK" sama customer ber-2 itu. and that is definitely the worse response EVER. We are both customers. And not to mention I CAME HERE FIRST. So his answer is UNFAIR & NOT VALID. Why won't he try to tell the other customer first to MOVE. Tapi malah cmn blg kl dia "gaenak" sama mreka. At that point I was HUNGRY and MAD. I told him "emangnya gaenak sama dia, kakaknya GA ngerasa GAENAK JUGA SAMA KITA???" di saat saya baru marah kakaknya ini baru MENCOBA UNTUK MENYURUH MEREKA PINDAH. Saya orangnya ga gampang marah tapi kakak ini bisa bikin saya marah dan teman-teman saya pun kaget & ini membuat situasi dan suasana sudah ga enak. Meskipun kami akhirnya dapat table tersebut. Tapi situasi sudah gaenak. Kami semua sudah tidak bisa menikmati experience kami disini. Tapi kami coba sebisa mungkin untuk tetap berusaha enjoy. Kami lanjut pesanan dan lain lain. Kami kira masalah cukup sampai tadi aja TETAPI TERNYATA muncul lagi. 3 dari kami memesan Thai Tea Original karena salah satu teman kami benar benar menyukai thai tea ORIGINAL dan kami khusus ingin mencoba thai tea original di resto ini sebenarnya. Saat kami ingin mengisi gelas ternyata isi mesin habis. Jadi kami panggil staff nya untuk refill mesinnya. Tapi staffnya bilang bahwa ternyata thai tea originalnya sudah benar benar habis dan menyuruh kita untuk mengisi thai tea GREENTEA sebagai pengganti saja. Teman saya yang benar benar menyukai thai tea ORIGINAL pun TAMBAH BETE. tapi mau gimana lagi? kami sudah pesan dan BAYAR. masa kami ga minum samsek? yasudah kami semua isi gelas kami dengan thai tea GREENTEA. TAPI GAK SAMPE 10 MENIT KEMUDIAN MESIN THAI TEA ORIGINALNYA DI REFILL KEMBALI. Wah kami semua ingin marah lagi rasanya tapi udah terlalu capek energinya terkuras. Tadi katanya udh bener bener abis pas kita suruh refill mesinnya. Td kt disuruh ganti jd greentea. Sekarang malah diisi lagi mesin thai teanyaa??? kan aneh. Kenapa tadi blgnya gak ada??? kita cape jg ngomongnya lagi dan protesnya lagi takut dikirain orang kt customer rese padahal servicenya yg rese. bener bener gak ada maafnya by the way dari masalah awal kayak ga merasa bersalah. akhirnya kita dapet sih complimentary mango sticky rice tiba tiba. tapi katanya karena kt CUSTOMER PERTAMA YG ORDER BOWL XL MENU TERSEBUT (mau ketawa gak si dengernya udh kt mesennya yg gede tapi dapet servicenya begini) jadi kami dapet complimentary sebenarnya bukan karena mreka mencoba untuk berusaha menyenangkan &validasi feelings kita habis kesalahan mreka tadi. Saya mungkin bakal lebih appreciate kalau mreka benar benar mengakui kesalahannya dan mencoba untuk make it up to us...but they didnt. Gangerti banget kenapa yang di assign di depan untuk handle table logikanya bisa gak jalan. Malah menurut saya staff yang lain lebih oke. Over all: -BAD SERVICE -MAKANAN B AJA NOTHING SPECIAL -BAD MANAGEMENT and im not going...
