Imperial Kitchen & Dimsum - Gajah Mada Plaza — Restaurant in Jakarta

I came yesterday, on 1st September 2024, with 6 adults and 3 toddlers. We arrived around 19:45 and closed the bill around 21:00. I was very excited to find an Imperial outlet in Gajah Mada because I am a fan of Imperial, so I brought my family. However, this branch did not meet my expectations; in fact, it was the worst Imperial experience I've had. Even the porridge was already sold out. I ordered: Nasi goreng buntut : The taste was completely bland, lacking the signature smokiness of Imperial fried rice. There's no need to ask how familiar I am with this dish, as it's the one I always order. Even the colour was different from what I’m used to; it was too pale. Capcay ayam telur: Just like the fried rice, it was TASTELESS. Sayap bawang putih: This is my second must-have dish, but once again, I was disappointed. It lacked the taste of ginger, garlic, and salt, and the portion was tiny compared to other branches like Kokas, CCM, and The Park Sawangan. Bakpao telur asin: The salted egg custard was unusually fishy. Kid Bento Panda: Again, it was bland, and the children refused to eat it. -Gurame asam manis: The portion was adequate, but the sauce was overly sweet with no sourness. Cumi lada garam: 8/10. Jamur enoki goreng : 8/10. Buncis daging: No complaints, it was delicious. Melon Juice, Lemonade, Strawberry Milkshake, and Avocado Juice: All were too sweet.

The positive aspect of this branch was the prompt and friendly service. However, I do not wish to return to this branch. I am so disappointed that I could write this long. Please take note of...

Nasi Goreng Yang Chou

Aku suka banget nasi goreng ini dibanding cabang SMS. Yang cabang ini rasanya gurih, nasinya nggak terlalu kering dan nggak oily.

Isian cukup banyak dan dimakan begitu aja tanpa chili oil udah enak. Porsinya cukup besar bisa buat berdua.

Gao Zi

Seporsi isi 3. Kulitnya lembut, isian daging cukup padat. Rasa saus hitamnya enak, agak asam cuka tapi nggak asam berlebih. Asa hint rasa gurih.

Always find consistent flavor and taste for all cuisines you pick up in each outlet. The location is so strategic since it is beside MRT station exit. Imagine super crowded once MRT starts operation...
