Kafe Betawi - Pondok Indah Mall 1 — Restaurant in Jakarta

Are here for lunch during the heart of the Ramadhan, so the restaurant was understandably empty. It's been a while since I had a proper Betawi cuisine, so I was ready to push the envelope.

The asinan was the winner; it was fresh and seasoned just right, a joy to eat in every bite, and perfect for veggie lovers. The asinan came with a giant krupuk, which was fun to snack on when dipped in the sauce. The rawon was also on point, with tender chunks of beef in delectable soup, paired well with emping chips.

The chicken and mutton satays were ok, but some skewers had barely any meat that we felt rather shortchanged at times. I ordered the fried rice with stinky beans, which was good, but I was hoping for more stinky beans on the plate, as it should have been the star of the dish.

While it was during Ramadhan, there was some coordination issue between the floor and the kitchen, and some of our dishes did not arrive until I reminded them. There was a curious moment when the server came during our meal and offered us some sambal containers for purchase. •Sop Buntut lumayan enak. mereka sajikan pakai alat yg bisa tetap panas ada api untuk nyala beberapa saat (maaf ga tau nama alatnya) hahahaa. Tapi kalau makan sama toddler jauhin ya takut kesenggol. • Tempe Mendoan sambalnya kacang baru tau kirain kecap dan potongan cabe rawit. Hehehe • Acarnya fresh. • Soto Betawinya gak kefoto keburu heboh dan ribet. • ambiances nya juara bikin pengen foto bersama sih lucu yah. Terlampir. • ice creamnya kayanya kerjasama sama magnum soalnya ada mesin magnum. • Kue ape (hijau) ga ke foto datang hangat mantap sesuai dengan harganya. • Perkedelnya lumayan enak dan lembut banget sih ini mah. • Terakhir nastar ma ga dijual disana wkwkw itu ma abis tukeran kue sama temen disana.

Note for management if you guys read this : so sorry, lambat banget kami uda pesan dari jam12 siang dengan harapan saat buka puasa ga lama. Saatnya buka puasa, orderan datang lama banget ko keluar satu persatu. Sejam kemudian kita bingung mencoba sabar ko ya lama. Setelah ditanya ternyata staff kalian salah catet. Bahan ga ada nanya lagi pesanan kita. Kami mesen soto betawi ayam 11 eh yg datang hanya 1. Nasi pun datang 30mnt kemudian. Semoga kedepannya pelayanannya bisa lebih baik dan speednya lebih ditingkatin....
